Nichole,
Thanks for helping spread the word.
For the rest of the VJC folks, I hope you are writing about the OHV
funds (or lack there of). It is very important to turn this around.
Without it, Tammy Pike will not stay employed by the State Trust Land

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to share some good news concerning the State OHV Funds
we are currently fighting for.
I just spoke with some friends that are in the Creepy Crawlers and
they want to help out. They obviously share our passion for jeeping
as well. They are going to pass the letters around and get everyone
to send them out! I am very confident that they will follow through
and probably spread the word to other groups.
Our voice is going to be heard!

This is not only awesome, it is gorgeous.
I Am the Flag of the
Of America
I am the flag of the United States of America.
My name is Old Glory.
I fly atop the world's tallest buildings.
I stand watch in America's halls of justice.
I fly majestically over institutions of learning.
I stand guard with power in the world.
Look up and see me.
I stand for peace, honor, truth and justice.
I stand for freedom.
I am confident.
I am arrogant.
I am proud.
When I am flown with my fellow banners,
My head is a little higher,
My colors a little truer.
I bow to no one!
I am recognized all over the world.
I am worshipped - I am saluted.
I am loved - I am revered.
I am respected - and I am feared.
I have fought in every battle
of every war
for more then 200 years.
I was flown at Valley Forge,
Gettysburg, Shiloh and Appamatox.
I was there at San Juan Hill,
the trenches of France,
in the Argonne Forest,
Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy.
Guam, Okinawa, Korea and
KheSan, Saigon, Vietnam know me.
I was there.
I led my troops, I was dirty, battleworn and tired,
But my soldiers cheered me and I was proud.
I have been burned, torn and trampled on the
streets of countries I have helped set free.
It does not hurt for I am invincible.
I have been soiled upon, burned, torn and
trampled in the streets of my country.
And when it's done by those
Whom I've served in battle - it hurts.
But I shall overcome - for I am strong.
I have slipped the bonds of Earth
and stood watch over the uncharted
frontiers of space from my vantage point on the moon.
I have borne silent witness to all of America's finest hours.
But my finest hours are yet to come.
When I am torn into strips and used as bandages
for my wounded comrades on the battlefield,
When I am flown at half-mast to honor my soldier,
Or when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving parent
at the grave of their fallen son or daughter,
I am proud.
Please forward this message to all who still love
and respect me that I may fly proudly
for another two hundred years.

Subject: Vibration from lift???
I recently installed a Rubicon 3.5" lift on my 2001 TJ (actually Fred
Wilson did the install and I helped). Anyways, I'm now having
driveshaft induced vibrations from 1st gear up thru 3rd gear. The t-
case drop that was included in the kit was only 7/8". I was planning
on doing an SYE/CV driveshaft upgrade then I was informed that I
would also need to add adjustable control arms in the rear or use cam
bolts. I've been warned against the cam bolts and I really don't
want to spend the extra money on the adj control arms. Right now I'm
simply looking for the easiest and cheapest fix for the vibes and I'd
rather spend my money on a rear locker and maybe an R&P upgrade to
4.56. Currently my rear driveshaft angle is about 19 degrees. From
what I've read I need to get this below at least 15 degrees. I
figure I have three options (starting with the easiest/cheapest):
1.) Increase the t-case drop. Currently I'm at 7/8". I think if I
went to 1.5" that would get the driveshaft angle below 15 degrees
(whether that is enough remains to be seen). How low can I
reasonably go on the t-case drop before bad things start happening?
I realize that i'm losing ground clearance but at least for now I can
handle losing 1.5" of clearance. Besides losing ground clearance
what really limits how far you can drop the t-case. I mean could you
do something extreme like 3" without causing major problems?
2.) Add 1" mount mount lift. If I do this then do I not also have to
add a 1" body lift so that the drivetrain does not contact the body
in the transmission tunnel?
3.) Add the SYE, CV driveshaft and upper or lower adjustable rear
control arms. This is about a $600 fix! This is my last resort at
this moment. Anyone use the cam bolts and have good results because
at least that would save me $175!
I'm really curious if anyone has the same setup and if so what did
you have to do to eliminate the vibrations? Ideally, I'm hoping that
increasing the t-case drop to 1.5" or less will be enough to solve
the problem at least for now.
Thanks,
John Teel

Subject: Re: Vibration from lift???
You need to measure your u-joint operation angle at both the front and
rear U-joint to start. The angle the ujoint is working at should be
within 1-2 degree of each other and as you said each ujoint shoould
really be less than 15 degrees operation angle. It is desirable for
the rear to be the ujoint with the greater angle but it is not totally
necessary.
Also before you do anything take off your front drive shaft and make
sure your vibration is from the rear. I have seen the front CV cause
vibration because it is working at too much angle. Something as simple
as moving the axle forward 1/8" with alignment shims cured it. Could
also be the angle you have on the front U-joint being too great. So
eliminate the front as the source before you go any further.

Yes and No. Yes because they are tail/break lights and no because you
loose your backup lights and your license plate light. A big no if you
do not include red reflective material either in the lens or
supplemental. Choose your lights wisely. Some folks have not included
the reflective material and this could be very dangerous. Parking on the
side of a freeway or trail with and invisible vehicle is not good.

I am in the process of having an exo cage built for my cherokee and will no
longer be able to use my con-ferr roof rack. The rack comes complete with 8
rain gutter mounting brackets (these are like 10 bucks a peice just for the
brackets), a locking Axe and Shovel mounting bracket, and hi-low mounting
bracket. This rack should fit all XJ's and can be used on Grand Cherokees if
you utilize the factory roof rack mounts for mounting. The crossmembers of
the rack have been reinforced and will support up to a 35 inch tire. I know
this because I used this for my spare up until I had a bumper carrier built.
$225.00 OBO. email me at badazxj@m....

Purple,
I have seen 2 different ones available locally that have reflectors. One is
the Super 40 lights that I bought at The Lighthouse and the other is the
ones that Joe West bought at NAPA. Either one of these have the safety
reflector built into the edge of the lens. The ones from The Lighthouse have
a translucent reflector allowing more illuminated surface whereas the ones
from NAPA have a slightly reduced iluminated area compared to the Super 40
lights.
Either one of these is a great choice for tail lights. I'm glad that you
bring this up. I went to great lengths to find the right lights for my rig
and most people don't think about the reflector.

Scott K

I am in the process of having an exo cage built for my cherokee and will no

rain gutter mounting brackets (these are like 10 bucks a peice just for the

Purple,
I have seen 2 different ones available locally that have reflectors. One is
the Super 40 lights that I bought at The Lighthouse and the other is the
ones that Joe West bought at NAPA.
Regards,
Scott K

Just don't forget reflectors or reflector tape for the rear since most led
taillights don't have them. Safety first ... Maybe we should make some
reflective AZVJC stickers for our Jeeps .... Purple .

as long as you have tail lights with turn signals and stop signals then they
are legal.
