I posted this in the off topic section too but I've been looking for a reason to use this thread so here goes!

The following is a letter I received today. If you have never seen a rally before, pack a cooler, come out and volunteer for a road block. It's fun watching the cars zoom by. also they're adding rallymoto (motorcycles) for the first time!

They are almost always in need of HAM operators and EMTs

Prescott Rally 2008
October 3-4, 2007
Introducing RallyMoto!!! First time in Prescott!!!

It is that time of year again! This is our 21st rally, which will be a very special event, as were introducing 2 wheeled vehicles. For those of you who joined the rally before, you know what kind of fun and adventure the rally can be. Come join us and meet old friends and make new friends, and be a part of the fun and adventure! For those of you that havent worked the rally before, come see what we mean by fun and adventure! The dates are Oct. 3 - 4, 2008.
Tech and volunteer registration will be at Tims Subaru (Willow Creek Rd.) on Friday Oct. 3, 2008. Make sure you put us on your calendar! Let us know if you will be able to help and what you would like to do (road block, timing, or service)? As always, family and friends are welcome. Let anybody you know to get a hold of us if they would like to help. Let everybody know that the only way to watch the race is to work it. Wed like to thank you ahead of time for your contribution.
Please accept this letter as our special invitation to you. We are asking you to come join us as a special part of the Prescott Rally 2008 team to experience the best Rally in the United States!
We look forward to receiving your volunteer confirmation from the website: http://www.prescottrally.com

you can't watch it unless your working it or thats the best way to watch it?

for safety and insurance reasons, spectators are not allowed on the stages. the best way to watch is to volunteer to work a road block. each trail that intersects a stage needs to be manned to prevent people from accidentally getting on to a hot stage and meeting a car doing 100+ mph.

aside from that you just sit there and watch the cars go by.
