I have a 92 XJ with 4.0 and my tranny is acting strange. When I stomp on the peddle I am getting no power the RPM's go to 3000 and sit there while the tranny stumbles to up shift and ends in not being able to shift. Once I let off the gas a bit it shifts just fine.

It seems the problem only occures under heavy throttle.

Its acting like a vacume leak but its electronic so Im guessing maybe the shift module? The TPS is brand new along with the CSPS.

Any ideas?

Come on guys I need some input here. If anyone has any ideas Ide really appreciate them.

Ive read lots about this problem and everyone keeps referring to an inline fuse for the TCU but I dont have an inline fuse to check. So if theres anyway to test the TCU Id really like to know about it.

Thank you
Adam

Do you have working b/u lights? Does sometimes not want to turn over when you go to shift? If so , it may be your nss is dirty and needs to be cleaned. It tells the computer what state the tranny is in, if bad it will run indefault mode. It worked on my 97 XJ.
