The fuel pump went out on my Willys. I bought a new and can not get fuel to the carb. I was able siphon gas to the filter, however that was it. I know that I have all 4 lines hooked up right. Their is really only one way for the rocker arm to go in, unless their is some trick that I am missing. I think that it is bad fuel pump. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you very much!

Sounds like a bad pump,
remove the house, have some one crank the engine, and put your finger or the inlet port and see if it creates a vacuum

cj3a or cj5? are you sure it is the pump? check connections on fuel line (break in line will cause loss of suction)
some options:
where fule line connects to pump, use short hose connector to clear fuel filter ($1.99 at autozone), couple feet fuel hose outother side of filter; CAREFULLY suck (ideally use bubble pump like found on boat tanks) on hose untill you see fuel enter filter; this will verify lines all connect; connect to pump and try
when starting with dry system, I (carefully) fill carb bowl through vent (or just use starter fluid) then start
I run clear filter between tank and pump and another between pump and carb (so can see fuel coming through)
are you using pump with bowl (glass)?

Your original pump may be good as well as the new one.
Like he said could be a fuel line leak. Like his idea of how to trouble shoot it.
Know a guy who fond one just as the fuel line was coming out of the gas tank.
Cheaper than a pump but can be a pain to fix if you don't have a plate above the gas tank you can remove.
I don't rember which years had the plate.
Other wise to find and fix the leak you may have to drop the gas tank.
Good luck,

It is CJ3A. I siphoned gas through the fuel the through the pump and then into the filter (gas is disgusting, a lot of Coors Light tying to get that taste out of my mouth:). I also dumped a little gas into the carb so that it would run a little to hopefully create a vaccum and nothing. I have the clear filter and it is just not moving. The only thing I can think of is I installed wrong or a bad pump. Unless their is something that I am missing (very possible), their is only one way for pump arm to go in so that should be right. At a complete loss.

It is possible that the fuel pump eccentric on the camshaft has finally worn away. That would keep the pump from working. Seen this a time or 2.
Pull the pump and look a the drive, see what condition it is in. If it is worn, then the only cure is a new cam or an electric pump.

The new pump was bad. Returned it and put a new one in and it started right up! Thanks for the advice.
