I know a dozen people can probably answer this one, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone has a good answer.
Is there a good place to tap into the wiring harness to install a trailer light plug? I need to haul a trailer around all week and will need a plug ASAP
I can play with the wires and find all the connections, but someone has probably already discovered a good place to tap into the harness.

Allen,
Take a look at the harness in one of the tail light electrical feeds. One of the mistakes that I made early on was to try to rely on the hitch for a ground. It will simplify your life if you ground to the tow vehicle directly and use the lights own harnesses as source. You will need to determine which wire feeds each turn signal. The turn signals usually use the same wires as the brake lights.
cheers.
Post up your results?
Good luck.

I would get the harness from the dealer. Quick, easy, and it will be right with no cut wires.

Where does this plug in? under the dash? somewhere in rear?
TIA

Give Cole at 4 Wheelers a call. He got me one that was plug and play for my LJ. It works great.

the newer vehicles have a plug under the bed in the rear just behind the bumper. all you have to do is unplug and plug. i have seen these at autozone, checker, pepboys, napa, etc.

behind the right tail light, real easy and simple, unplug the original light harness, then plug in the new trailer harness. This will be a "T", so it will be in between the original harness connection. The one I got was for a 4 prong trailer plug, not sure if they offered any others but you can always get adapters to get to whatever style you want.
