Which monsoon? The stupid official one that now starts on June 15th no matter what or the unofficial way it used to start, with 3 consecutive days of 55 degree dew point or higher?
The June 15th thing is stupid...but that's just my opinion.

Wow, can't believe this thread hasn't been updated with someone stuck. I'm always among the first in line to save the monsoon knuckleheads that get stuck but I'm afraid my Jeeps still in 2wd due to lack of a front driveshaft (STILL... I know, it's been 2 weeks)...

I saw a stuck Ford Ranger in my neighborhood this morning, they decided to TRY to run through an empty and very muddy undeveloped area and got stuck about 5 feet from the road. its covered in mud. I thought it was funny, I should have snapped a pic. it didnt even have mud tires was just a stock Ranger.

Any time! I could sure use the help of someone who actually knows how to drive one of these things. I have a feeling Im still chickening out from easy obstacles and at the same time probably taking unnecessary risks on others

Riggs road was littered with dead cars this morning who unsuccesfully attempted the water crossings..

What do I have to do to not get stuck?
In the winter people drive right thru the water at box and seem to do fine
Are there warning signs about the dirt or what? I mean can you read the dirt a certain way?

Yea. you get out of your jeep and step on it or poke it with a stick. In the witer we get a bit more rain so the puddles are more compact. but after a dry season and then rain! The dirt will be softer. so therfore You have soft mud!

ok ok....Im stuck in a JohnP thread and need help getting out!
Im stuck in 4 feet of drama, and thought it would be safe to post, but it was deeper than I 1st perceived it, and hence why I proceeded.
Im going to need a few heavy duty pulls, as alot of my friends that are with me have become stuck also, and are being drug down deeper into the muck and the mire.
Please send help, and possibly medical assistance, as the pain and anguish are more than one can handle, and may have a mental breakdown trying to cope and remove ourselves from the predicament we have worked ourselves into.
Please send help asap...!!!

The wet mud at the hassayampa seemed about 1/8" thick with dry sand underneath it...I have no idea how in the world that works, but the river is upside down anyhow, so what do you expect?
I drove over it ok. Is it when the mud keeps going down, with no rocks or sand underneath that you have to worry?
What you need to worry about in the hassayampa is quicksand and quick moving water.. Typically going out a day after the waters have subsided is the best time to play.. When water is running in any of the silt bottom rivers/washes it will turn to quicksand as the water begins to run underground.

yup...and every time you go out alone...into such areas, you increase the risk of getting stuck, stranded...or needing help getting out.
