We have done a few Nitto mud grapplers and they are not DD friendly. I fully expect to get at least 40K out of my KM2's (rotate bal every 3k)

Not going to wait till sept for them to release the KM2's for my size... I would be just going with regular KM's

33x12.5r16
or 285/75r16
A 285/75r16 is more like a 33 x 10.50, the 305/75r16 is more like a 33 x 12.50.
I'd look into the Cooper STT myself. heard alot of good things, available and "American Made" Of your choices, KM's but you can't wait 2 months for teh KM2's?
Coopers are Great!! we can help you with the Coopers, or the BFG's if you'd like..

Im rolling on mini-van tires with zero offroad potential right now... p225/75r16's...
I bought my jeep to use it and im tire of not being able to go on runs due simply to tire issues.
Plus... going to Sedona next month (dad's coming down from utah, and its the first ive seen him since I got back from my deployment.)
the Sept date on the KM2's is speculative at best...Havent heard anything official from BFG concerning a drop dead release dad/not to mention people have wanted the 285 size for quite some time now--almost guarenteed backorder issues as soon as they hit.

For a DD, I think the BFG MT KM2s are the best out there right now.

I think if you can pick up rubicon take offs for far less than even new KM's. I had Km's for 46K and they were done around 40K and I had pretty good luck with them.

the grappler will wear faster than the bfg FOR SURE. on a 33 you should get about 30k out of the tread on a bfg. i just do not like bfgs. i have had many troubles with them. i would definately reccommend something else other than these two choices. i have had the xtreme m/t on my personal vehicle, and i love them. ORi can get you any tire you need, and we have VERY competetive pricing.

285-75r16....
They dont even list that size on their website, and I have it confirmed by at least 3 other sources that they are not out till sept.
Off the topic of the ghost KM2's.... I think im going to either go with Baja Claws or Mickey Thompson MTZ's... Leanin towards the MTZ's as they apparently dont need to be rotated as often. and I can get a killer deal on em.

either one you go with get the 13.50 inch wide tire their 12.50 are only 2 ply sidewalls i made the mistake of getting the 12.50's:( my next set will be 37x13.50s

Does anyone know whether the MK2s or Cooper STT performs better in snow and rain?
I'm going to get 1 of these tires and cannot decided.

The SSTs might have and advantage in the snow and rain, as they are factory siped, and the KM2s are not. But the KM2s are going to last a lot longer in the rocks and dirt. There are problems with the SSTs chunking VERY badly when spun on the harder surfaces.

I have heard that the MK2s have siping on the inner lug. If I knew that the KM2s would perform well in snow and rain I would order them today. I need to know that I won't be sliding all over the place.

Look into the Micky Thompson MTZs over the Cooper SSTs if you want aggressive and highly siped tires.

Not to add to any confusion but you should look into the Hankook Dynapro MT model RT03. They are less expensive than BFGs and so far I have heard good things about these from several people who wheel with them hear in the valley on their DD. Low road noise, good road manners wet and dry, they wear well, they are reported to stick on rocks as well, if not a little better than MTRs. You can get them through Discount.
I run 16s as well and you will need a 305/70R-16 to have a 33-12.5-16 equivalent and 315/75R-16 is the 35-12.5-16 equivalent.

I'm absolutely loving my MAxxis Bighorns. Not too loud, balanced fine, soft enough to grab like crazy but seem to wear good. I paid about the same you are looking to spend for 35 x 12.5 on 15's. My buddy Dane can hook you up.
