I am in need to ff some one that has an OBD1 scanner 92 XJ kicking out codes.
If any ones in the 51 ave and union hills area and has a scanner let me know please.
ya i think i got a old otc monitor 4000 laying in the garage somewhere pm me i can bring it to work and scan it for you:)

I don't know if this will help, but I have an ODB1 Volvo and my ODBII scanner connects and reads it just fine.
"Perhaps" the Autozone or Checker scanners will connect and read your codes as well and they'll do it for free. My scanner came from Checker.

You might be able to get the codes manually. If you turn the key ON OFF ON OFF ON and watch the check engine light it should flash the codes. It will be a 2 digit code, it will flash the first digit followed by a pause then the second digit, then a longer pause and the rest of the codes if there are more codes. Also FYI, codes 12 and 55 mean nothing. 12 means the battery has been disconnected within so many key cycles and 55 means that is the end of the codes.
Then google the codes you find along with whatever Jeep you have and I'm sure you'll find some information on it or post them here and I can help you with them. Let us know what you find.
