Just moved here last week from Colorado. I've been on Rubicon owners a bit posting lots of pictures and now live in Queen Creek and looking to wheel as much as possible.
Here's the toy at its most recent run..

The company I worked for was bought out and new management wanted me in the office every day so I put my resume on Monster. I actually asked on another board if anybody knew of a job in Az the day before the head hunter called me as I've always wanted to live in Az for a while. I came when a job was available basically.
I still have some Arizona Highways magazines from the late 60's for some reason in my pile of must save mags so there was always a fascination with the desert..
I was tired of waiting until July to wheel and having such a short season since it starts to snow in late September/October.
Oh and the snow melted in the u-haul on the way over sorry.....

There are some great trails in that area.
The whole area around Ouray is amazing.
Pearl Pass into from Crested Butte is a great trip and so many other trails that intersect with this on either end. Alpine Loop is very famous and scenic, especially in the fall when the Aspens change.
For the more diffecult trails you can hit Montrose area and most stuff on the western slope are harder and rockier/less scenic.
Feel free to ask any specific questions and I'll help you out in any way ythat I can..

Thanks for such a warm welcome from everyone and I look forward to lots of wheeling trips with you all. Hit me up if you ever want to go out from scenic to hard trails as I want to see as much as I can.
I'm on a one year contract and still have my house in Colorado if things don't work out here so I want to maximize my weekends getting out..

Thanks again for more friendly welcome's and jeep comments.
I moved from the Denver area, well my house is in Westminster which is closer to Boulder but was living down by Morrison and Red Rocks when I left.
I've never wheeled in Ouray on Cinnamon Pass but have spent time down there on the motorcycle.
I wish it wasn't so hot so there would be lots of wheeling trips going on now..

Would you like to hit Sedona next weekend?? let me know and I'll get ahold of Sedona, see if he can join us! If interested I'll post up a run, see if we can get a few to go.

Thanks for being so kind and thinking of me for next weekend but already have some wheeling plans scheduled.
Oh and I never would have thought you wheeled with a dog :devilish:
I like dogs and certainly have no issues with them on the trail. Most people I've wheeled with there has always been at least a dog or two around.

You just mistook all the fresh touch-up paint on the scratched up corners and tube fenders for a Grocery Getter look. Get your junk out tomorrow and show me a real trail http://dontlr.smugmug.com/photos/109007087_cZsiJ-M.jpg

ha, ha ..what only one or two dogs??? i wheel with a pack of 4, always. Most people don't even realize they are in the jeep,.. they are very used to the trails and are all good girls.
so I'm thinking about hitting the coves in about 45 minutes, I'll post it up, see if anyone is interested.
Howdy Don,
It looks like you are making yourself at home. I'll be back to wheelin next weekend.
