Subject: NMVJC going to BB or VBB style list

I got an email today stating the NMVJC Yahoo group will be locked/closed and
they are going to a BB or VBB style format.

You got to love people that aren't stuck in the past.

Oh and get this... they actually held a vote and the members are sticking
with the vote results.... Are they breaking a VJC tradition or what? Those
renegades...

Here is a picture of these. I am going to a 6 lug pattern and can no longer use them. I paid $199 for them new and would like $100 for them used. They will fit 5 on 5.5", 5 on 5", and 5 on 4.5" perfect for CJ's, Wranglers, and Cherokees.

So I have a question about selling a vehicle with a vanity plate. Do
you keep the plate when you sell it or does the new owner keep it?
Will I get that plate back if they keep it? I still have the
original plate that came on it so would I put that one on it?
Thanks in advance

Travis,
The original plate is worthless, do not put it back on the vehicle. You keep
the plates that are on the vehicle, regardless if they are vanity plates are
not. You can check the State's web site on this at:
http://www.servicearizona.com for more information on how to sell your
vehicle.

Travis,

As of January 1, 2002, you own the license plate. It no longer goes
with the vehicle. More details can be obtained at the Motor Vehicle web
site.

Arizona changed in the last year or so. From what I understand you
always take the plate with you when you sell or trade in a vehicle
regardless of whether or not the plate us a vanity plate. The new owner
will have to register the vehicle in their name and get a new plate.

When I traded my Civic in on my Accord last August I moved my plate over
to the new vehicle. When Theresa traded her GMC in on her Accord last
April we did the same thing.

Hi James,

I really think that it's a good idea for people who like the BBS format to
move over to it... I'm not sure but Mike may even be working on the design
of one right now (it may be finished). The absolute best thing anyone could
do is to create the BBS and let people choose by participation...

If you feel passionately about it, and no one else has picked up the ball
and run with it; you should start working on it yourself if you have the
time... I know I would if I really wanted to see a new format.

I have discovered one thing in this club... if you are passionate about
something and can communicate your passion to the group, the group will
respond in large numbers... whether it is a cleanup, or a run to assist
refugees of a fire...

It's all about leadership James... rather than making friendly jabs at the
situation...

Change it. I know for a fact you have the talent to do so if you choose to
do so.

Kind Regards,

Joe West

The dinosaurs only died when a meteor hit the planet.

You and a few other "old timers" have said, there is no way you would switch
over to a BBS format.

Joe,

Here is some food for thought:

Like I said, the NMVJC'rs voted on and stuck with the vote, ALL OF THEM.

Subject: Jeep Posse---(Dont laugh)--Yavapai County's had one for years

I mentioned last Saturday that maybe we should form a Jeep
Posse...well I had no idea (until today) that one aleady exists in
Yavapai County.

There's an article in the Canyon Country News this week about the
Yavapai County Volunteer Jeep Posse's "new" Communications Command
Vehicle, a 1985 Ford 4WD Ambulance, that's getting over $20,000
worth of renovations and state-of-the-art electronics. This new
vehicle will have more capabilties than their current Mobile Command
Post, a 1965 28-foot motor home . They will be able to communicate
with DPS helicopters, National Guard, Forest Service and HAM
operators. They assist the DPS and other agencies during search and
rescue efforts, as well as other things. Apparently they are
completely self-funded.
They do not recieve any money from the county or the city.

The Jeep Posse is just one of fourteen seperately incorporated
search and rescue groups in Yavapai County (which is 892,000 sqare
miles big) whose volunteers work when the need arises.

I almost did sign up for Maricopa posse a few years back at the time I had a grey J10. They wouldn't let me join unless it was white, I didn't want to paint it so I couldn't join. At the time I thought it could be fun to help with S&R but your not allowed to carry a weapon. Something about lawsuits.
