Hey,
I was in the library the the other day looking for some information
on the FJ area, and ran across an article entitled Jeeping in
Arizona, from the February 1964 Arizona Highways Magazine. Pretty
interesting article. Talked about the Phoenix Jeep Club. It would
be interesting to see where they were running trails at. The only
one they mentioned in the article was in the Hassayampa Box Canyon.
If you happen to be in the library, take a look at it some time.
Makes you realize how far we have come in 39 years.

No, as a matter of fact brad I was not called by ray, but I actually
called him to find out what the hell was going on with this...I too
have only heard one side of the story, which happens to be rays, BUT
I can guarantee you that he did not call me and ask me to "stand up"
for him...I think we need to let the "boys" hash it out themselves
because sooner or later my grandpa will end up kicking your grandpas
*** while we are both sitting in math class this afternoon...:)
ENOUGH ALREADY!!! Ray, you need to post your side on this list, and
whatever goes on from there goes on.....

Subject: Re: '97 TJ Suspension Questions...
You cant just throw spacers on top of your 2" lift because you start
to get too steep of a lift.... you will have to buy new shocks,
lower the t-case (or do the SYE), get a drop pitman arm, track bar
relocation brackets or new track bars front and rear, new swaybar
disconnects (front) and longer sway bar links (rear) and extended
brake lines if you want to do it correctly. Just take a look at all
the 3.5 to 4" lifts and see what they come with... you will need to
buy all that to get the spacers on. The only thing listed in those
lift kits you dont "NEED" are the control arms (In my opinion you
actually do "NEED" them) So there you have it.... your probably
better off just buying a 4" lift. Sell your old kit for a few bucks.
Gears will not destroy the off road capability, they will enhance it
(better crawl ratio)... on street is a different story... the
farther from stock you go (without changin tire size) the higher RPM
you will be at for the same speed... that being said... bigger tires
will help even that effect out. Do the lockers and gears at the same
time since they are both expensive to have someone set them up and
you will save a lot o cash on labor doing them at the same time!
Hope this helps a little! -Rob

This is getting ridicules. Filling up email boxes, calling PO's, he
said, they said, Oh yeah and leave him stranded on the trail... what's
up with this. Replying to a question about if this happens in the club
often is one thing. Making vigilante threats or promises by third
parties is a bit out of hand. Granted some of it was sarcasm and in jest
(I hope).
We should let this go. When (if) Ray posts a response, so what, let Brad
and Ray duke it out.
I got one word for all of you.... Karma!

Hi,
This past Sunday I ran the Crown King trail starting from CK to Lake
Pleasant. I've only run this trail once before on a club run in Aug
2001. Can anyone identify this spot in the attached photo? Surely
it can't be the ledge??? If it is, it really has got tore up since
the last time I was there.

NO kidding! this thread is getting old FAST! YOU TWO NEED TO SORT THIS ****
OUT BETWEEN YOURSELVES! Airing dirty laundry in public and threatening both
sides w/ lawsuits is childish and not needed. If its not jeep get it outta
here. Now settle this quietly please. BTW I have already made my decision
about this guy I know I will never buy anything from him. I am sure everyone
else agrees. If you dont have the balls to stand up and voice your side
right off and you OBVIOUSLY dont have the balls to settle this sour deal.
Then you aren't man enough to get my cash. GROW UP!
Pardon my french to those who are sensitive. This needs to stop its a
mockery.

I wonder what the Arizona Probation Department would have to say on this
subject. On of the terms of all probations is to remain a law abiding
citizen....
Selling an obviously well used/non working product, misrepresenting this
product as new/used once and working product, is a crime in Arizona, at
least Theft (Class 6 Felony) or at most Fraud (Class 2 Felony)!
13-1802. Theft; classification
A. A person commits theft if, without lawful authority, the person
knowingly:
3. Obtains services or property (Money could be considered property) of
another by means of any material misrepresentation with intent to
deprive the other person of such property or services.
8. "Material misrepresentation" means a pretense, promise,
representation or statement of present, past or future fact that is
fraudulent and that, when used or communicated, is instrumental in
causing the wrongful control or transfer of property or services. The
pretense may be verbal or it may be a physical act.
OR
13-2310. Fraudulent schemes and artifices; classification; definition
A. Any person who, pursuant to a scheme or artifice to defraud,
knowingly obtains any benefit by means of false or fraudulent pretenses,
representations, promises or material omissions is guilty of a class 2
felony.
E. As used in this section, "scheme or artifice to defraud" includes a
scheme or artifice to deprive a person of the intangible right of honest
services.

Ray, I know that you have been reading all these posts and feel guilty
inside even if you don't admit it. The right thing to do is cough up the
money. NOT pay for half of the repair he suggested. You sold an item
under false pretences. That is illegal and your PO should know this. I
am sure you will get quite a bit of harassment for this but who cares.
If I had bought that from you and it didn't work as you stated it did,
believe me, I would get my moneys worth one way or another. Do the right
thing and give the money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: RE: FW: Chandelle ATV tours permit environmental review- comments requested
This is the first I heard of it. My first instinct is to oppose it. But
when I read the entire proposal I got to thinking and realized that this
might be the beginning of a change for the better in the Tucson BLM
office. Once they set a precedent of allowing recreation in the area it
might be harder for them to close it down later. On the other hand,
remember how Pink Jeep in Sedona used to have exclusive commercial
rights to some trails until a judge declared that wrong? At that point
every commercial venture in Sedona started running those trails without
a permit. So I have mixed feelings. It is public land so for them to
allow commercial access they will have to allow the continued public
access. Of course there will be a huge burden on this company and I can
see the potential conflicts with other recreationists.
At this point I'm undecided. Maybe Sandee, Stu, and Hackle can tell us
their feelings on the subject. They are usually better informed than the
rest of us.

Karma!

I wonder if it useful to setup a "buyer satifaction comments"
attribute for each sale item (object) advertised on AZVJC classifieds.
This could be writable by anyone so that the buyer could enter
his comments (good or bad) on the sale and the seller could
rebut, it appropriate. Anyone else looking to buy stuff there could
research a seller's past sales. It may work, it may not. Who knows.
Maybe this is one good thing that can come from all of this.

I was able to see the pic. That is definitely the top side of the ledge. The actual ledge is in the background and isn't visible in the pic. I've been wheeling this trail a few times a year for 10 years now. For the most part it looks about the same as it has for those 10 years.

Hey,
I was in the library the the other day looking for some information
on the FJ area, and ran across an article entitled Jeeping in
Arizona, from the February 1964 Arizona Highways Magazine. Pretty
interesting article.

Thanks,

NO kidding! this thread is getting old FAST!

They are usually better informed than the
rest of us.

This is getting ridicules. Filling up email boxes, calling PO's, he
said, they said, Oh yeah and leave him stranded on the trail... what's
up with this. Replying to a question about if this happens in the club
often is one thing. Making vigilante threats or promises by third

(I hope).
We should let this go. When (if) Ray posts a response, so what, let Brad
