This steering box bracket was custom designed to replace the weak factory bracket on 1976 thru 1986 CJ5 , CJ7 ,and CJ8 jeeps equipped with factory power steering. It has been fabricated using laser cut 3/8” steel and precision mig-welded to be virtually indestructible. The design of the bracket improves onroad/offroad driveability by eliminating bump-steer as well as frame and factory bracket flex. No other parts or braces are needed with this bracket installed. The powder coated finish is charcoal grey and a complete grade 8 mounting hardware kit is included. This product is new in box.

This statement was sarcasim and meant to get people's attention, and promote discussion, which I think has been acomplished.
Brandon has been around long enough to know what this group is all about, that is what makes this truly unfortunate. This is why Brandon chose to trust this fellow member with his hard earned cash, to purchase what he thought was a good deal on a nearly new winch. We continually post and read about our good experiences with one another, it is easy to forget that all people are not necessarly honest and not always good people. There are those who will and do take advantage of every oportunity. It is really a shame to believe that there are those type of people in within this group, but this seems to be the case.
Several phone calls were placed to the seller in this case, Ray Bratton, all were answered with a thumb of the nose and a too bad so sad attitude. Brandon even offered to pay half of the repairs of the winch, wow, this is more then he should have had to do!!! The seller offered a nearly new product, (Used Once!), any reasonable person would expect a working item. If I for one were to buy a product under these circumstances, I would expect my money back in no uncertain terms.
Should the buyer beware, absolutely! Should you be more trusting of people within our group, I would like the answer to be absolutely! We obviously do not know every member so we must do what we can to watch out for each other. Now that we know this type of person is out there, we must remember and encourage our fellow members to be careful when buying and be honest when selling. I don't know if any other members know Ray Bratton, but if they do, I would hope they would pick up the phone and encourage him to do the right thing. For those of us who do not know him, we do now....unfortunately!
Maybe we need to have a list like E-Bay, with good and bad experiences for buying and selling. I'm just thinking out loud, I realize there are problems with this idea. This hurts us all and I for one will not forget this in the future.

Regarding "paying the Probation Officer", I asked a Probation Officer,
friend of mine about that, and here's his reply:
"Yep, people on probation are SUPPOSED TO (key phrase) pay $40 or $50 per
month for "probation fees," plus any restitution, fines, attorney fees, etc.
It's supposed to be $50 per month MINIMUM, with the judge having the
discretion to charge more if the person can afford it, but they either just
assess $50, or they drop it to $10 or $20 if the person says they can't
afford it. Well, they can afford cable TV, cell phones, and can smoke two
packs a day, so why can't they pay their probation fees????

Subject: Re: 3/4 elliptic
Tom,
I don't run a 3/4 but have a friend that did and have read about 3/4
set-ups on the internet. First, you'll most likely end up getting
more lift from the 1/4 leaf since it will most likely mount under
your frame. That lift coupled with all the additional droop you'll
get will force you to do the SYE/CV shaft mod.
Second, the 3/4 set-up makes it easier for the rear axle to try to
walk under your rig instead of pushing your rig forward. At a
minimum, you'll end up with more rear steer. At the worst, you'll
break something. I once saw a video clip of some Jeep with a 3/4 set-
up trying to climb a hill. The rear axle walked under the rig on one
corner causing the rig to lean back and roll over.
As you can probably tell, I'm not a big fan of the 3/4 set-up. But
keep in mind that I speak somewhat naively about it. I have no first-
hand experience.
Regarding the loss of lift due to the larger axle tube diameter of
the 8.8, that is correct. The amount of lift you'll lose will be
equal to the difference in radius - not diameter - between your
current axle and the 8.8. But you should also check for any
difference in spring perch height. When I swapped in my front 44, I
lost 1/4" due to the large tubes but gained 3/4" from shorter spring
perches resulting in a net increase of 1/2" in lift (I'm also SUA).

really negative about the suspension, but I am still running the
stock slip yoke and drive shaft. I've got about 4+" of suspension
lift (3.5" springs, .5 - .75" shackle). Have not had any issues with
the d/s so far, and figure the 8.8 will actually lower the rear of
the Jeep a bit due to the larger axle tube diameter (I'm SUA).

Ok... so some may have figured out that i am not the smartest person in the world... my wife tells that i am in fact smart... i just lack common sense. (is that supposed to make me feel better?)
Question #1:
I have soft upper doors on my TJ and the zippers realy suck. we had some unexpected bills and now i can't get a new soft top. Does anyone know how to fix these damn zippers or should i just glue the little ****s and be done with it till i can afford the new top?
Question #2:
Maybe Mike Elrond can assist in this one but everyone else feel free to pipe in - While driving, i notice that my TJ follows the rut in the road more than any other vehicle i have ever had. even my '76 CJ wasn't this bad. sometimes it's a fight to keep her going straight... it almost seems like she wants to barrel off the road at 45-50 miles an hour. she must be a real go getter!! Has anyone else experienced this and if so... do you know what the hell is goin on? i feel like i'm gonna get pulled over for being under the influence... ( i swear officer... i've only had soda!!!).

On #1-what we did in the army was use wax on the zippers. Go to walmart, the

zippers. The hummers had the same type of deal and they sucked too, after
the wax treatment they worked like a charm. Hope this helps :o)

Ok... so some may have figured out that i am not the smartest person in the
world... my wife tells that i am in fact smart... i just lack common sense.
(is that supposed to make me feel better?)
Question #1:
I have soft upper doors on my TJ and the zippers realy suck. we had some
unexpected bills and now i can't get a new soft top. Does anyone know how to
fix these damn zippers or should i just glue the little ****s and be done
with it till i can afford the new top?
Question #2:
Maybe Mike Elrond can assist in this one but everyone else feel free to pipe
in - While driving, i notice that my TJ follows the rut in the road more
than any other vehicle i have ever had. even my '76 CJ wasn't this bad.
sometimes it's a fight to keep her going straight... it almost seems like
she wants to barrel off the road at 45-50 miles an hour. she must be a real
go getter!! Has anyone else experienced this and if so... do you know what
the hell is goin on? i feel like i'm gonna get pulled over for being under
the influence... ( i swear officer... i've only had soda!!!).
thx to all! y'all make me feel warm and fuzzy inside!

Price above is for 99-00 Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon. However, I offer intake systems for most all make and model vehicles.
Provide a noticeable improvement over factory air intake/filter systems by supplying smoother, higher velocity air to the engine. They require no cutting or drilling on install, and will take less than 30 minutes to attach using common hand tools. All systems come with a high-volume cone filter with washable pleated element.

Seems he has to make payments to his probation officer monthly or
something.
I also talked to Mark, the Certified Warn Tech at 4Wheelers this
morning, he tore the motor down and it had "quite a bit of wear"
and "abnormal wear on the brushes", I also asked him if there was
any way I could have broke the motor driving home with it in the
back of my Jeep, he said no way.
I am sure my next buying experience on AZVJC will be much better, I
have had some great trips with you guys, and some good wrenching
partys, AND a great deal and service on some awesome bumpers from
Troy.
Thanks for your help,

"Yep, people on probation are SUPPOSED TO (key phrase) pay $40 or $50 per
month for "probation fees," plus any restitution, fines, attorney fees, etc.
It's supposed to be $50 per month MINIMUM, with the judge having the

assess $50, or they drop it to $10 or $20 if the person says they can't

Subject: Picture of Aftermarket Steering Box Bracket for CJ
Price: $110
Contact: 602-405-6213

When I swapped in my front 44, I
lost 1/4" due to the large tubes but gained 3/4" from shorter spring
perches resulting in a net increase of 1/2" in lift (I'm also SUA).

the same time I do my axle swap (D35 to 8.8). I don't see anything
really negative about the suspension, but I am still running the
stock slip yoke and drive shaft. I've got about 4+" of suspension
lift (3.5" springs, .5 - .75" shackle). Have not had any issues with
the d/s so far, and figure the 8.8 will actually lower the rear of
the Jeep a bit due to the larger axle tube diameter (I'm SUA).

Um, I assumed the referenced post was simply misworded and was
intended to say something like "pay his probation officer a visit".
It seems more likely that a grammatical error was made than something
fishy is going on.

Ok... so some may have figured out that i am not the smartest person in the world... my wife tells that i am in fact smart... i just lack common sense.

Go to walmart, the
archery area and buy a tube of string wax. Then just wipe it into the
zippers. The hummers had the same type of deal and they sucked too, after
the wax treatment they worked like a charm. Hope this helps :o)
