I only trust Safelite any more. You should be able to find one of
their shops in your area. I've had bad experiences with Empire, and
Auto Glass Solutions. I also suggest you take it to their shop,
especially if your Jeep is lifted. It's too hard for a mobile
technician to work on a lifted rig. They generally don't carry a
ladder. I'm not aware of any discounts however. Glass coverage
really doesn't cost that much if you have comprehensive insurance,
and Allstate won't jack my rate for glass claims. I've made several
claims and my rate even went down last year.

Ok I stand corrected. I was referring to the 80's Waggies with the drivers side drop. I guess I forgot to add that info.

Discount has informed me numerous times that the warranties are transferable. thats one reason i bought them in the first place. also i know they will sell anyone a warranty on a tire that was bought somewhere else as long as it is in good shape. i bought four tires four years ago and ive replaced 13 tires since then, two of them were just a month ago. i buy a new warranty every time. not once have they ever kept track of serial numbers in any way.

Price: $750

Contact: Linda Luik 480-834-1171

I have a set of J20 (FS Jeep truck) axles for sale.

Front axle: D44, 8-bolt, disc brakes, 4.10 r&p;,
diff on passenger side, SUA (factory)

Rear axle: D60, 8-bolt, drum brakes, 4.10 r&p;, diff
offset to passenger side, SOA (factory)

These axles are great for Wilys 4x4s, CJs, FS Jeep trucks, Wagoneers,
IH Scouts.

They won't work on the newer Jeep models, TJ/WJ/XJ/YJ/ZJ,
without a lot of work.

$750 is what I paid for them in Aug 2002.

After all that work in getting them they won't work for you? That's
too bad. Is the D60 a 35 spline or 31 spline? (probably 31 spline)

As far as I am concerned this is flat out wrong, even if Discount

Go north on I-17 past New River and take the Table Mesa Road exit (if
you get to Black Canyon City you went too far). Turn left (west)
across I-17 then take an immediate right. Continue north just past
the end of the pavement to the clearing on the west side of the road.

Hope this helps

Date: Wed Jan 22, 2003 8:51am
Subject: Re: Re: super 35, gears & locker?

Are you having the shafts and rotors redrilled or just the rotors?
If you're ordering new shafts, might you also need to consider the
center holes in the rotors (assuming they center on the end of the
shaft instead of the lugs)?

I agree the low pinion isn't that much of an issue because most of the
time you place your front tires on the high points and the pinion/shaft
don't touch anything - even with the low pinion. I've only hit my front
shaft on the rocks once and that was when I took a bad line and then
slid sideways.

As for the steering, I kept the Waggy tie rod and drag link. You're
right that the Waggy tie rod and drag link are significantly more beefy
than both the YJ and TJ links. And the length was correct.

Note that since the Waggy tie rod is on top of the knuckle arms, I had
to remove my drop pitman arm and go back to my stock pitman arm.
I view this as a good thing. You might to do the same although you
have more lift than me so it's not clear.

You will also have to get your pitman arm reamed out to accept the
Waggy drag link end as it is bigger than your stock drag link end.
OR Fab did mine but most fab shops can probably do this. The hole
has a conical shape which means you can't just use a normal drill bit
to do it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Chris,

Can't help you out but thought I'd shed some light. Junkyards that
know better won't separate the motor parts from the 4.0 motors
because these motors are in demand by people wanting to convert over

Yes I agree, but a stock 4.0L TB act like a bored out TB to a 2.5L 4
banger. The bored out 4.0L TB may be a bit much for the little
engine, that is why I was hoping that someone may have upgraded
their 4.0L to a bored out TB and I could pick up their stock TB.

Does anyone know if the bored out 4.0L TB would be too much for the
little 2.5L engines? I do have a high flow cat, muffler and 2.5"
exhaust, also a Turbo city air intake tube with a K&N cone filter on
the end.

Not a problem at all! I found a 1980 J20 (parts truck) with the front
diff on the driver's side. That will make it easier to route the 4BT
exhaust and the Willys will get a stronger frame for the engine (4BTs
weigh around 725#). Another plus is that we won't have to redesign
the suspension. The biggest job will be shortening the frame to wagon
length.

I am parting out most of the J20 truck, but a lot of it will probably
be going to the salvage yard. The only body part that is in good
shape is the cab (w/VIN tag).

Subject: Flare Trimming?

Anybody just cut the vertical part of the stock flares on a TJ for a
little more clearace in lieu of a "flatfender". I don't quite have
the ba!!s to cut the sheetmetal yet. I take that back, I don't have
the stones to face the wife after i do it ;) If you've done it and
have a pic I'd appreciate it. I'd also like to hear comments if you
think of any drawbacks.
