Hello All,
Stu Olson is leading a Tin Can Alley trail run on Saturday, January 18, 2003.
When: 9:30 AM - aired down and ready to hit the trail.
Where: State Route 74, Mile Marker 11, (commonly called the Haul Road, about 9ish some miles west of the turn off to the Lake Pleasent Marina)
Rating: 3.0+
Length: day trip
CB Channel: 4
This is a fun trail for drivers and vehicles of all levels, IMO. We've had stock 4x4 vehicles make the run with only an occasional strap needed (depends largely on your tires and swaybar discos, etc.) If you like roller coasters, you should enjoy the trail...plenty of ups and downs. If memory serves me correctly, Mike Chatfield once told me they did some Halloween spook runs in this area a few years back.
Pack a lunch and something to drink....I don't think Pizza Hut will deliver that far out (although it would be a cool route to have!) Plase check your ride over and ensure it is in good operating condition. We will be a ways from the nearest parts store. Depending on the number of vehicles, we will probably spend about 5 or 6 hours on the trail, but as always, be prepared for a longer day if someone has breakage or we have a larger group.
One last thing....If you don't like 6 month old pups, please don't sign up for this run. I'll have both of mine along (they are working on their Jeep dog qualifications) and I wouldn't want you to have a lousy day putting up with them. They are pretty well behaved but I have had some problems with them bringing back body parts.

Sorry for the late reminder&.as I explained to another mentioned who mentioned it to me&..mine is always in the glove box and I would no more go wheelin without it than I would spare axle shafts.

Plenty of open spaces to play in. I'd prefer someone with intimate knowledge of the area to lead but it'll be fun one way or another. Come on out and enjoy the weather.
At the Coves of Saguaro Lake, there are at least 4 coves to play in, on, and around. Many hill climbs provide a challenge to all levels of 4-Wheelers and vehicles.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Everything is nicely painted and the tub is off the frame, so you won't get

If someone has a few hours we will start about 9AM. I know it's late notice.

Just kidding!
If you use OziExplorer mapping software and desire a track log of the trails for that area, drop me an e-mail and I shall send you that and the waypoint file as well.
Here is a write-up from a previous run of the trail.

Hello All,
Phil Thompson is leading a Coves of Saguaro Lake trail run on Monday, January 20, 2003.
When: Meet around 10:00 am
Where: Mc Donald's on Power Road 1/4 Mile North of U.S. 60 on west side, or 10:30 at Butcher Jones Parking area.
Rating: 2.5+
Length: ?
CB Channel:
Plenty of open spaces to play in. I'd prefer someone with intimate knowledge of the area to lead but it'll be fun one way or another. Come on out and enjoy the weather.
At the Coves of Saguaro Lake, there are at least 4 coves to play in, on, and around. Many hill climbs provide a challenge to all levels of 4-Wheelers and vehicles.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

If anyone isn't busy for a few hours this morning on the Eastside, I could
use some help. I got a call late last night and my block for the CJ is going
to be here this morning. I need to drop the block and tranny into the frame.
Everything is nicely painted and the tub is off the frame, so you won't get
too dirty, lol. I still have a ruptured disc in my back I need to take it
easy or not tell my wife and the doctors.
If someone has a few hours we will start about 9AM. I know it's late notice.
After the block and tranny is in I can do the rest, until the tub gets
finished.
Email me off line or come over if you know where I live.

I would be real interested in this (as a student), if we can find
some teachers. I also have some stock we can practice on, a bunch of
industrial shelving horizontal rails, that look to be a good
thickness for boogering up (anyone need industrial shelving
horizontal rails?). Actually I have a crack in my CJ frame that we a
guru coould "demonstrate" on as well (hint, hint).
On a side note, I am looking to get a 115v welder, probably a Hobart
135, but have doen most of my looking around on the 'net, anyone know
of a local wleding supply house that has 135s for a decent price that
does good customer service (just as soon buy locally). I'll need an
autodarkening helmet and other stuff too.
