Joe,
You are right, I did not shop around, everything that I have seen come out of his shop is excellent work, so I just went to him and said, do it. The quality of the work is so much more important than the price, (within reason) that I felt his shop was the right place to go.

I guess pricey is a subjective term& I find Johns rates for repair and fabrication work to be some of the lowest in town. If you think John is pricey& shop around a bit.

John,
John at hunteroffroad@aol.com did a TJ cage through the dash for me that is awesome. He is pricy, but the work is first class.

I am thinking about improving the stock roll cage in my TJ by running it to the floor instead of just the windshield. I am looking at the products from OR-Fab or M.O.R.E. Any opinions on this? How easy is it? Is it worth doing? Are there other options?

Exactly what I was thinking Joe. Johns prices are VERY good, almost
as good as his work:)

Looking at the topo map again, it looks like it might have been right
at the Y because I did not see any other stream, but the waterfall
might have been going down to the other stream, which would put it
right at the Y. The area is basically one mile due south of the Ajax
mine shaft. There is still dirt where the old rocks would have been,
that would have been washed off in the rain out there last Wed.
On This map:
http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.aspx?
t=2&s=11&x=1207&y=9181&z=12&w=1
The waterfall would be right by where the two X's are at, downstream
from the windmill.
Again, sorry I don't have better description, or pics. The area does
look like it gets a pretty good use, the wash at the top of the
waterfall had plenty of pretty large oil stains where people had
obviously had problems getting up the waterfall.

So it made the trail more challenging....All of the trails have been
quite easier over the last 2 years....thats what we can do!!! Blast
the trails to make them harder, which we could tell the BLM we are
doing it to help keep traffic down....yeah...:) Just kidding

Since AzVJC mail list is hosted by Yahoo Groups, I thought everyone
might like to know this:
Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo
Group users around the net and see what you're doing - similar to
cookies. Take a look at their updated privacy statement.
About half-way down the page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo!
Network", you'll see a little "click here" link that will let you
opt-out of their new method of snooping. You may want to do this.

maybe Mike and Joe W can assess the situation as to how far back we need to

Gary,
From the location noted on your map this is the waterfall at the top of Bad
Medicine. There have been BIG boulders that fell in from the sides years
ago but we've been doing this trail for a long time. There has been a lot
of stacking and I did notice "pry marks" along the sides whereas someone
pulled smaller rock down to "fill in" the valley/hole. This happened about
a year ago. This portion of the trail is on BLM land. Where we ran into
problems with Jamboree is the owner of the Herring mine refused to allow us
across his property and we had to have "written permission" to do so for
Jamboree. This guy is not OHV friendly. A couple of times last spring he
met several groups of 4-wheelers with a shotgun in his arms.............
"cannot trespass on my property".
If there has in fact been "blasting" it may well be from the miner and no,
he cannot do this. BLM did not and most likely, would not blast any trail.
(although don't know what this damned Tucson office might do) As far as BLM
is concerned this is a legal trail and they have no problem with us running
it with the exception of the "private" lands. I haven't been out there
lately but I believe there is another small road/trail that leads down into
the wash just past the mine site that should be a by-pass for us. Just have
to get out there and check.
I'll try and get out there this weekend and see what's up. Sandee

Joe,
You are right, I did not shop around, everything that I have seen come out of his shop is excellent work, so I just went to him and said, do it. The quality of the work is so much more important than the price, (within reason) that I felt his shop was the right place to go.

On This map:
http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.aspx?
t=2&s=11&x=1207&y=9181&z=12&w=1

Attached is a map that I did showing some of the landmarks and the area in
question. The track is where we went on the quads, we then walked through a
rock field to get to the fall.
Hope this helps a bit,

Since AzVJC mail list is hosted by Yahoo Groups, I thought everyone
might like to know this:
Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo
Group users around the net and see what you're doing - similar to
cookies. Take a look at their updated privacy statement.
About half-way down the page, in the section "Outside the Yahoo!
Network", you'll see a little "click here" link that will let you
opt-out of their new method of snooping. You may want to do this.
Once you have clicked that link, you are opted out.
http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/pixels/details.html
Notice the "Success" message at the top of the next page. Be
careful, because on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-out" button
that, if clicked, will *undo* the opt-out.

I'm not sure who the official administrator of the group is, Mike or Joe maybe?. Just thought I'd bring it up incase no one is aware or cares the space is filling up.

if need be, I can transfer some old archives to my server (4x4jeep.net)
maybe Mike and Joe W can assess the situation as to how far back we need to
hold on to logs... maybe sometime in the future mike will integrate the
archives into the azvjc web site.

I have the stock bumper off the front of a 93 XJ Cherokee. It is black and includes the side end caps and mounting brackets. This will fit on 84- 96 Cherokee's. Good Condition, no dents.

Subject: RE: Intentional Trail Blockage
Gary,
From the location noted on your map this is the waterfall at the top of Bad
Sandee
