Call for help.........

Tucson is trying to stick another one to us guys.......... again, they are
not "going with the flow" re the route inventory for this area. Like
Phoenix, the route inventory guys are out on the lands running "what they
see". They know there are many ROCK routes they don't see so needless to
say are not getting picked up until we identify them........

Now............ here's the problem. Tucson is taking the stand that when
the inventory is complete (by the end of the month) THESE are the only
routes. We need to get our GPS readings in BEFORE the inventory team is
pulled from the area.

Please send via email if possible............ if not I'll pick them up
anywhere!!!!

If you have them plotted on a map.......... all the better. I just need
whatever I can get NOW.

THANKS, Sandee

Experience.

The hood lock setup I purchased from them failed after a few months (at the
most) AND it actually started to RUST here in Arizona.

Anyone want it? I'll give it away for free.

Subject: Intentional Trail Blockage

Hey all, I was out in FJ on my quad today with an "old-timer" (76
years old, and lives in the FJ area, knows every trail out there).

He showed me a trail and said that the BLM was fighting with the
Jeepers to get it closed, but there was a deal that BLM agreed to let
it be run once a year. When we got to a waterfall on the trail, the
boulders above it had been blasted to block the trail. He said he
was out there last week and it was not like that. He guessed that
BLM had won, by blasting the rocks. I don't know, Sandee might have
an idea if they even do this. I don't know whodunit, but someone
did, as there are tool marks on the rocks above, where the boulders
fell from.

Problem: I don't know what trail it was on, I am guessing that it
was Overdose, Brakeline or jawbreaker, but don't know (stock jeep
don't do waterfalls). and I did not get any pics of it, but I did
have my GPS. The coords are N33 11.6 W111 10.967 Sorry I did not
get any pics, but it has a couple of good size (5' diameter) boulders
and a bunch of smaller stuff sitting in the waterfall making it
basically unpassable, without moving those boulders. We were above
the water fall, and there was a windmill (with the vanes on the
ground) just upstream from it.

Sorry about the lack of information, but I figure someone somewhere
has the trail on GPS and will know which one it is. Just don't want
someone to go up there and expect to run the trail, to find this and
ruin their day.

Hello All,

steve sample is leading an Ajax (Upper) trail run on Saturday, January 18, 2003.

When: 9:30 am sat
Where: cottonwood cyn entrance
Rating: 4.5
Length: all day
CB Channel: 4

just checking to see if anyone wants to run ajax. it's a short but tight trail with some challenges. locked F/R recommended. need plenty of lift and 33's minimum- prefer 35's. winch not mandatory. don't see why we can't do some of lower ajax on the way.

see ya

Upper Ajax is one waterfall after another. It gets very interesting when wet but it is always a challenge for the best built vehicle. It doesn't seem to feel the negative side of "rock stacking;" ramps keep showing up but the waterfalls don't seem to change. Most often you will have a spectator gallery from the main road up above the wash.

This is a fairly short trail in length but always seems to keep you busy most of the day. Body damage is a possibility. Don't forget your lunch, water, camera and spare parts.

Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Once we knpw this we can find out if this was a criminal act. If so we
can work on finding the culprits.

If the Tucson BLM had anything to do with this we need to find out if
they did a proper environmental impact study before blasting and had the
appropriate authority to do so.

At this point its too early to say, but finding out the name of this
wash is a good starting point. Maybe Sandy will know something.

So it made the trail more challenging....All of the trails have been
quite easier over the last 2 years....thats what we can do!!! Blast
the trails to make them harder, which we could tell the BLM we are
doing it to help keep traffic down....yeah...:) Just kidding
people....

I am thinking about improving the stock roll cage in my TJ by running it to the floor instead of just the windshield. I am looking at the products from OR-Fab or M.O.R.E. Any opinions on this? How easy is it? Is it worth doing? Are there other options?

I guess pricey is a subjective term& I find Johns rates for repair and fabrication work to be some of the lowest in town. If you think John is pricey& shop around a bit.

Hi Gang,

I am running into limitations for having Cox host my web page... so I have
purchased a few URLs and want some opinions on which one I should use to
host my Jeep webpage... here are the choices:

I took the joewest.org one just because I thought it would be neat to put
