Perhaps it is just me but privacy and confidentiality are important. With ID theft on the rise it bothers me a bit that anyone can just pull up your call sign on the web and have your name and address. Is there a way to remove that?

If there is a legitimate issue with an amateur radio operator the FCC would be the once to handle the complaint? They are the only ones that need the address is my guess.

So why is it listed and is there a way to remove the address?

Thanks.

The only way I can think of is if the FCC suppressed the address in your data (and everyone else's) in the ULS database, which is where all of the ham sites such as QRZ, e-ham etc. get the information.

Mine is set to my work office address for the same reason. I have heard of others using a friend or relatives address or a PO Box.

PO Box... I did not realize that could be used. I think I may look into that.
