We also need to head out to the Armagedon turnoff. There's not as
much trash, but some big things, i.e. washer/dryer unit, computers
that need to be removed.
There is also a demolished car out there. Would anyone with a
trailer be willing to drive out there? We could get a jeep or too
together and winch it up on to the trailer.
Only question is....where does one take it?
I won't have my jeep, so no winch, and I don't own a trailer, so I
can't provide much more than manpower. But I think it would look
really good if we could get it out of the area. It's a sight for
sore eyes for sure.

Nick,
I think there are other clubs sponsoring clean ups and the like and are
inviting us. Table Mesa is PW4 club and the Sycamore (or Sycanire) clean
up is Game & Fish and the Forest Service sponsored. *We* aren't doing
everything, we are just helping out. I am sure there are other clubs
invited to most of these events we just end up being the most in
attendance.

Scott,
I'm not sure if that would be the case or not. Remember that the non
Rubicon Wranglers are running the same body, frame, and I believe tcase
skid. This would seem to indicate that it will fit without a body lift

Lon,
From what I have seen the new 241 Rubicon tcase is taller than the 231
due to the larger and beefier planetary gearset. I have heard the the
swap requires a body lift to fit into an older TJ.

OK....sounds good. I didn't realize that you had already found the info
saying it would bolt in....hopefully it will fit in the available space.
Something is making the Rubicon hand a inch or two lower than its
cousins....logically, it would be the tranny or the t-case.

I'm not so sure, the following is a cut and paste from the
rockcrawler.com website:
Paso Robles, CA - The following new products are now available from
Advance Adapters.
NV2410R Rock-TracNV2410R Rock-Trac Transfer Case
Advance Adapters Inc. now carries the NV241OR, or "Rock-Trac" found in
the new Jeep Rubicon. This chain-driven transfer case sports a rugged
low-range planetary design and a fixed rear yoke. It is designed as a
bolt-in replacement for 23 spline NP231J cases as well as for new
conversions!
Depending on the price of the unit, this would appear to be a great
upgrade for an earlier TJ.

Lon,
I was comparing some of the specs, between a 231 and a 241, on the New
Venture web site. WOW....the 241 case will handle more than twice the
torque of a 231 and holds twice the fluid.
Although it gave no external measurements, I doubt if it will simply
swap over. I believe it is the reason why the t-case on the Rubicon
hangs so much lower.

Joey is correct,
I know for a fact that other clubs are involved in these clean-ups.
Something to keep in mind is that most of the other local clubs do not have
the active member counts that we (AZVJC) have. There are also ATV and
Motorcycle clubs that have been involved in the Land Issues, and Clean-ups.
We are not alone, and our numbers are rising.
We just need to do what we have to do, set examples, and definitely not keep
any scores! For me personally being involved with the Land Issues and
taking part in the Clean-ups is the most rewarding part of this hobby.
Don't get me wrong I love to wheel.

Subject: [TR] Trip Report - Sunflower Mine Loop - Saturday, January 11, 2003
Hello All,
Kristilin Weiss lead a trail run Saturday, January 11, 2003 across Sunflower Mine Loop
Since none of us had preveiously been on this trail, it was completely new to all of us. 2 CJ's and a YJ showed up and we braved the unknown......
We ended up taking a wrong turn and headed up into some higher elevations, that had beautiful scenery, with lots of pines. We even spotted a tiny patch of snow. Not that difficult (2) of a trail. But the scenery made it all worth while.
Mid day we came across some mongols and the CJ's played on them for a few and of course Jim had to play too rough and got stuck. After a few tugs with the rubber bands, we got him out. Seen about 3 different mines. Finally, towards the end of the day, after about 4 hours of exploring (lost), we finally came across Sunflower Mine. Pretty cool, with lots of interesting structures, including a sleeping racoon! By the time we were at the mine, it was late, so we opted not to continue the loop and do the 'fun-stuff' and we double-backed; maybe next time.
Would like to go back and do more exploring on all the side trails we passed along the way.
Kristi

We also need to head out to the Armagedon turnoff. There's not as
much trash, but some big things, i.e. washer/dryer unit, computers
that need to be removed.
There is also a demolished car out there. Would anyone with a
trailer be willing to drive out there? We could get a jeep or too
together and winch it up on to the trailer.
Only question is....where does one take it?
I won't have my jeep, so no winch, and I don't own a trailer, so I
can't provide much more than manpower. But I think it would look
really good if we could get it out of the area. It's a sight for
sore eyes for sure.

hangs so much lower.

This is AMC 4x4 Salvage in the west valley. I bought my last one there for
$250 I think but you could always call to check.
BTW the fuller bar should bolt right on but you may have to pry some. I
bought one for my 88 there and they even helped me put it on at no charge.

Nick,
I think there are other clubs sponsoring clean ups and the like and are
inviting us. Table Mesa is PW4 club and the Sycamore (or Sycanire) clean
up is Game & Fish and the Forest Service sponsored. *We* aren't doing
everything, we are just helping out. I am sure there are other clubs
invited to most of these events we just end up being the most in
attendance.

Kristi

I'm not sure if that would be the case or not. Remember that the non

NV2410R Rock-TracNV2410R Rock-Trac Transfer Case
Advance Adapters Inc. now carries the NV241OR, or "Rock-Trac" found in
the new Jeep Rubicon. This chain-driven transfer case sports a rugged
low-range planetary design and a fixed rear yoke. It is designed as a
bolt-in replacement for 23 spline NP231J cases as well as for new

Depending on the price of the unit, this would appear to be a great

I was comparing some of the specs, between a 231 and a 241, on the New

torque of a 231 and holds twice the fluid.
Although it gave no external measurements, I doubt if it will simply
