Hello All,

Bob Jacques is leading a Coves of Saguaro Lake trail run on Sunday, January 12, 2003.

When: Meet at 8:00 am.... Pull out at 8:15... Done by 10:30
Where: Gate at Butcher Jones.
Rating: 2.5+
Length: 2 hours
CB Channel: 4

A quick trip to The Coves/Rolls area north of Sagurao Lake.

Just a short trip for those who want to be home for the playoffs!! Probably head in at Butcher Jones, run around a cove or two, head north, up the big hill and come out by the rolls play area...

At the Coves of Saguaro Lake, there are at least 4 coves to play in, on, and around. Many hill climbs provide a challenge to all levels of 4-Wheelers and vehicles.

Had the same problem with the Loop 101 opening. Only David Withers and myself showed up. I would have been at this one but I had a funeral for a veteran to conduct. I am the Chaplain for the Honor Guard at American Legion Post 29 in Glendale, AZ. Not an excuse, just a reason.

We (azvjc) had a posting on the web site for a "run" for the loop 202 opening today and a few people signed up to go, I understand that things come up but only ONE family showed up,late but they showed.
I know it sounds like Iam *****ing and I guesss I am but I don't understand.
I myself had my van to haul all of the stuff in, and to put the banner and maps on, so I did not have my jeep. Try telling people that you are with the AZ Virtual Jeep Club and have a big red van behind you, with no jeep insight.
If we can not support a event like this I dont think we should offer to join. But thats just me and my two cents..
Thanks goes out to the ones who did show. Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/

I agree there was an important event today. From what I saw of the
technical workshop at Joe West's house it was a great success. Plus
Joe showed me how to rip apart my dash and pull that ABS light out.
Thanks, thanks and more thanks to Joe West.

Lon,

I was comparing some of the specs, between a 231 and a 241, on the New
Venture web site. WOW....the 241 case will handle more than twice the
torque of a 231 and holds twice the fluid.

Although it gave no external measurements, I doubt if it will simply
swap over. I believe it is the reason why the t-case on the Rubicon
hangs so much lower.

I'm not so sure, the following is a cut and paste from the
rockcrawler.com website:

Paso Robles, CA - The following new products are now available from
Advance Adapters.

NV2410R Rock-TracNV2410R Rock-Trac Transfer Case
Advance Adapters Inc. now carries the NV241OR, or "Rock-Trac" found in
the new Jeep Rubicon. This chain-driven transfer case sports a rugged
low-range planetary design and a fixed rear yoke. It is designed as a
bolt-in replacement for 23 spline NP231J cases as well as for new
conversions!

Depending on the price of the unit, this would appear to be a great
upgrade for an earlier TJ.

Hello All,

John Halverson is leading an Unspecified trail run on Monday, July 21, 2003.

When: 07/21/2003
Where: Rubicon Trail
Rating: None
Length: 6 days
CB Channel: 4

Leaving Phoenix on Monday morning, this will be the 2nd year we have done this trip so I suppose I can call it the AZVJC 2nd anniversary Rubicon run. If you have not done the Rubicon, and you consider yourself a 4wheeler/rock crawler, then you have been missing out.

1 and 1/2 days travel to Georgetown, 3 days on the trail, and 1 and 1/2 days home, the Rubicon is an, in your face, never give you a break, man is this fun, let's do it again, trail from start to finish. Last year, literally within 1 minute of leaving camp at Rubicon Springs, I had lifted a front tire so high ( because I hadn't even gotten to the road from camp yet) that I had to back out or go over. And I was still drinking coffee with one hand. Please do a Google search and check this out. I intend to do this trip every summer for the forseeable future, it is that good.

John

Are you positive you are talking about NVG241OR or are you talking about NV241 that has been around for years

Does anyone know if the NV241 tcase from a Rubicon will bolt into an
earlier TJ with no modifications except for the rear driveshaft?

I think we need to turn this into a learning experience instead of
pointing fingers and making reasons or excuses.

Yes this was not discussed a lot but there was a reminder sent several
times.

Yes it was not advertised as being fun and exciting or more importantly
rewarding and educational (for the public).

Solo maybe public meetings or showings of this kind need to be brought
to a vote or discussion to get a feeling if there is enough interest and
benefit.

I should also emphasize that signing up for runs, meeting or whatever is
a good thing. Signing up then not showing up is a bad thing.

Ok, Here's the deal. I need to change my front main bearing seal. I understand I need to only take the harmonic balancer off to get to it. I know, also the fan and radiator etc. What tools do I need for the harmonic balancer and the actual pulling of the seal? Can I get them at Harbor Freight, and how much? I am trying to see if this will be cheaper if I do it rather than a mechanic. The part is only like 6 bucks.
Any info is appreciated, as she's starting to leak bad! (97 TJ 4.0L)

As you all know, this weekend and next is the treeburn at Sycanire Creek... I wanted to propose a clean up out there to just go over the wash and dispose of all the left over debris. There has been talk about this area being closed down, and I went down there tonight and the was a LOT of BLM.... Sure would suck to see them use the tree burn, and its reminens against us.... Would anyone be interested in bringing a couple trailors out there not this weekend but next... Saturday the 25th? let me know.. id like to organize this.

For those of you heading to the Christmas tree burn I have some info for you. The Sheriffs Department has signs up stating no fires in Sycamore and further more there were around 25 Sheriffs Department vehicles at the main entrance.

Good Luck!!!!!
