Hey guys, I am fairly new to the wheelin' industry. I was wondering what would be the best option for suspension upgrades on my '08 2 door JK? There are a handful of companies that produce suspension lifts for JK's and as you know there are several types of suspension lifts to choose from. I am looking to fit 35's on there so a 4" suspension lift would be plenty, but I am also looking for the most travel for my buck (if there is such a thing! LOL). Standard lifts will obviously be the least expensive, but it doesn't increase my overall travel by much. I was curious about long travel suspension lifts and four link suspension options as well. I know they are quite a bit more expensive, but are they worth the money? Please let me know. I have heard good things about Teraflex's long travel suspension lift and BDS as well. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I know. I saw those pics. That was pretty good flex on that rig. Plus the Teraflex lift is pretty cheap.

I'd go Black Diamond if I were doing it. Depending on the kind of wheeling you'll be doing (how radical do you want to get?) and your offroad/daily driver ratio, I'm not sure you'd be well-served with a long-arm suspension. Then figure out how much of what you do will negatively impact your warranty. You'll also get into driveshaft geometry issues. I strongly suggest you either go see, or call (602-248-8949), Joe Daro at Absolute Offroad. He is, in my opinion, as knowledgable as anyone around here when it comes to JK lifts.

Cost was a factor for me... I will admit that is why I chose it. That being said, I am extremely happy with the on-road manners as well as the off-road. I won't say I don't notice the lift at all but it is damn close. It really does drive nice. Drop me a line if you want to drive it before you buy a kit. I go somewhere every weekend (even if just for a few hours). See you on the trails!

Depending the wheelin you plan to do, the Jk has a midarm suspension already and has plenty of wheel travel in stock form. The Tera flex 3" lift is huge!! It sits up high enough to easly clear 35" tires which will get you anywhere you need to go on the trail! You can also run a BB 2.5 and clear 35's if you want to save some $$
