I have the factory soft top with non-tinted windows on an 06 TJ. I need some tint...is the best way to do this to purchase the Bestop replacement kit? $220 seems kind of pricy...but I can't actually tint the factory plastic windows can I?

Any advice is appreciated...

I asked a window tint guy if he could my tint my soft windows and he told me no. I bought the Bestop windows and like them.

Make sure if you go that route that the fabic is the same as your top. I did that for a Dark Tan top and the material on the tinted windows was not the Sail cloth that the top was mad of. Maybe once you get in the newer years there is no cloth other than the Sail Cloth. It was my wifes 01 that I had the trouble. The top finally died so new top was ordered with tinted windows and all matches. Really like the tinted windows.

I bought tinted windows from QuadraTec for my '98 several years ago, and as far as I could tell they looked and functioned just like factory windows. Go ahead and get them - you won't be disappointed, and keep your clear windows for offroading so your new tinted ones don't get scratched up by branches.
edit: Be careful with rolling the rear window up and securing it with the straps. The window can get really scratched up just from bouncing around while driving.
