When Walt and I first met 25 years ago... he loved building engines... I loved watching him build those engines...
As time passed... I gradually picked up on... what the carburetor is and does... what the intake manifold is... what
a cam is and what it looks like... blah blah blah... meaning back then... I helped him pull engines, tear them apart,
put them back together, put them back in the vehicle... and off we go. We even tore apart and rebuilt a tranny...
one of these days I will tell you about the LONG LONG MILES LONG trail we left
Well... then it came time for kids... 1st our son Jeremy who turns 22 in June... then Samantha who is 18 and graduating
from High School on May 22nd. I am thinking because I became a "mom" that I turned "girlie girl" because Walt WOULD NOT
let me under the hood of anything... let alone change a tire... so that is when I gave up trying to help...
What I am getting to is... ... My Green Jeeps steering stabilizer was pushing out the hydraulic fluid... so
it needed to be changed and I had a brand spankin new one (thanks Bear!!!) so my task for the next... ummm who knows
how may hours (ha ha) was to put that sucker on...
I must say I am PROUD of myself... I changed it... and with a little help from Walt. I am no where near as strong as I used
to be so he had to break the bolts for me.. I did good on tightening them up... well that's what he said.
It felt... good... Walt kept on saying "Do you want my help?" ... told him if he helped he will take over and wont let me
finish... which he tried NUMEROUS times...
Ok... I may not know as much as I used to... don't even know if I could rebuild an engine like I used to but dang... that
felt good to be back under a vehicle and working on it...
Ohhh yeah... I have pictures... don't laugh too much <g>
This is what it looked like..

Then Walt got a hold of the camera... its ok.. he wants to send it to Guinness... ha ha ha...

keep them... I like... loud obnoxious horns.. this one... I sound like a DIESEL! ACCCKKK!!!

Are those the Harbor Freight air horns? If so, I bought them too, got part way through the install and hooked them up for a second to hear them. They sounded like crap so I pulled all the wiring, closed the hoop and they still sit bolted to the fender with not power running to them. And this was back in September.

Nice work Rox, nothing like satisfaction of working on your rig.
I put a set of those on my blazer one night about 10years ago when my roomate and I were drunk. We thought they'd be deeper tone but ended up being pretty high pitched. :(

We had a 1978 Chevy Blazer K5 4X4 years ago... put an air horn on it
and sounded sweet...
The one I had on My Green Jeep just wasnt loud enough... these horns
are loud but they are deep... sounds like a semi coming...

YES IT DOES!!! You need to move then "THUD" your tire is setting in the
crack... either the creeper needs larger tires or we just need a new...

Ha Ha I used to get so pissed at my old creeper. I finally broke down and got heavy duty Snap-on creeper. It has 4 inch wheels, and you can almost run over tools with it. The only bad thing is when you try to get leverage on something it wants to roll all over. One of the best garage purchases I have made.

You have 2 of each in your Jeep
They provide leverage

When we get back from Flagstaff... the air horns are coming OUT!
They are not loud... too deep in sound... my daughter and son both
agree on that...
Now I have to find another horn... :(

Awesome job!! It is such a sense of accomplishment to do this work!! I used to replace engines, flywheels, body work, etc with my hubby 30 years ago, but then daughter, work, high school band, etc etc all kept me from this and I totally lost most of what I can remember!! Good job! - I totally understand your pride in doing this!!! Way to go!!
smiles, karen
