Beautiful looking XJ, looks to be in perfect condition. Can't tell what year from pics, newer than 96 is all I can tell.
I sure love those white XJ's, they style, are dependable work horses, am amazed at their abilities and that white sure hides the AZ pin stripping well!
I have 1, and would like another 98 to store for future project. Have a 96 XJ that has low miles, lift and in excellent shape except for fading hood color, that I would consider selling to purchase another white 98.

Great choice! I love the Currie 9". Thinking on my new axles in the future. I really dig their 40 spline unit!;)

For the type of wheeling you do I would go with TrueHI-9 thirdmembers.

For front, but not rear. Do not want my rear gears running on the coast side when I redo it. HP front, with LP rear is my plan. Do you know if you can get 35 spline 9" front inner/outer shafts for a 9" front? If not, the a D60 or Spider 9 is in the future for the front. I still am thinking of a 40 spline 9" for the rear, but how strong is the 9" R&P compared to the D60/70 or 14 bolt rear?

For a frt use just use 60 outer stuff to get 35 spline outer, this can be achieved by using KP, BJ or unit bearing with BJ
The problem with LP is driveline issues. 9" LP are even lower than D60 and D44
I Know everyone has thier own opinion on LP versus HP rear. My opinion better angles and getting driveshafts up and out of the way far out weigh the small amount of strength loss of a HP rear.
I have been running HP rear in my rigs and beat the piss out of them. Never have broken a R&P. The True HI-9 HP get the driveshaft up farther yet.

sa-weet. that Atlas looks niiice, and the t-case shield (intregal with the crossmember) looks like it was designed for a NP242, but doesn't need to stick down that far any more, no?

It actually tucked up nice, In the picture the skid / crossmember was not bolted up tight yet. I did have to modify the trans mount to work with the Atlas. I used a early chevy transmission mount;)

My buggy is 104" with HP frt. & rear, driveshafts hardly have and angle at rest and I still need to limit travel, clearance the yokes and run high angle U-joints so there is no bind at full articulation and droop.;)
If I had a LP rear it would be worse and the driveshaft hangs below links.:)

For what it's worth, I agree with Todd here. Although the Tru Hi-9 in a rear application is on the coast side of the gears they rarely brake, especially compared to a HP d60. You'll (Lance) more than likely need a high power V8 and larger tires to break one of these. The pinion is supported very well which reduces the deflection that breaks gears.
