Anyone who says Cherokee and not liberty... and includes the letters CRD must not be from the US.... where do you live, out of curiosity?

Well you asked to compair the 4.7 and crd. With the v8 you should be around 17 - 18 average. It will depend on how you drive. with the crd you should be around 20 - 21. Again it all depends on how you drive it. The reworking of the 4.7 is really nice. Seems to be right there with the hemi now. The crd is great in its own right. when that turbo kicks in you need to hold on. Jason said he has two right now at a really good price. Both are 4x2. Stickers was around 42K. Now selling for under 30k. If you like the 4.7 you can get some really good deals on those right now. By the way the Grande Cherokee has 5 star crash front and side.

Ive only seen two in real life and they weren't being driven by anyone that would consider it an offroad vehicle or would be on this board.:(

It seems to me that the economy of the diesel is more than ruined by the fact that it is only offered in the most expensive trim level plus the premium price of the engine.

The folks that can pop for one probably never take the time to calculate the mileage.

Mostly the folks buying these have been rv'ers that flat tow with a diesel pusher.

For 2008 Chrysler lowered the Diesel price from $3400 to $1700 and lowered the Nav Price from $1890 to $900..so the prices have come down a bit. These 2 2007's that I have left are a great value

Also for 2008 they are offering the crd in the laredo model. It does have to be the X package however. Alot lower price then the Limited.

With the v8 you should be around 17 - 18 average. It will depend on how you drive. with the crd you should be around 20 - 21.

Fuel is 30% more with the deisel and it gains you 15% on mileage.
You gain torque and loose HP.

For 2008 Chrysler lowered the Diesel price from $3400 to $1700 and lowered the Nav Price from $1890 to $900..so the prices have come down a bit.

Why would you buy a 2007 then?
I never had understood why manufactures do this.

Why don't they slap one of these CRD's in a Wrangler?
You would gain torque and it's a wash on HP. Exactly what a Wrangler needs.
