Looking for help... I just purchased a 2007 4-Door JK Wrangler Rubicon and I am looking for a 3" or 4" lift that will ride well enough for an everyday driver but will handle the trails as well. I would love to hear what you guys have done to yours and works. Lifts, Bumpers, Winches, Extras & Toys. If you think of other threads that would be helpful I would appreciate it. I am starting from bone stock so I am open to suggestions. Who in Phoenix is reputable to install? Thanks in advance!

i dont know to much about the jks but when i did my lift i did a lot of research on the different types of lifts and figured out what i was going to be doing with my jeep and went from there any of these three places should be able to answer your questions

i'm sure everyone here will tell you that a long arm lift will give you the best ride on and off road.

i will say that since i switched to the long arm i have had a lot more fun wheeling my jeep if the funds are there i would go with the long arm

Can you tell me what the advantages or disadvantages are with the long arm kit? Isn't there a lot more drilling / cutting? Sorry... rookie here :) I am worried about warranty as well... I saw a thread about the warranty being void on lifts if they are not done by the dealer and / or under 2 or 3"s... anyone have a "for sure" answer on that by the way?

You never indicated a tire size? The Jk has bigger wheel opening which allow for a smaller lift with larger tires.

2" Budget Boost=34" Tires

2.5" BB=35" Tires

3" Tera Flex Lift with new coils, trac bar, shocks and Steering staiblizer=35"-37" (Some shops use brackets with stock trac bars which mean you WILL snap the factory bracket right off and they lack steering staiblizers for some reason)

Other 3" kits have room for just 35" Tires

Mopar has a new lift 4.5" long arm and includes everything incuding new rear drive shaft, its not cheap and it has no warranty!

That being said, I have wheel with New Jeeps with the 2.5" bb and with 35's they were able to tackle 4.0 trails. The stock control arms are forged steel and can handle quite of bit of flex due to their mid arm design.

Call Brad@Airpark 480-226-2709 and ask for the Jeep club discount

As far as bumpers go there are many choices out there, I like the new Jeep mopar bumpers 3/16 lazer cut steel and they are at a very fair price. You can mount the spar on the gate up to 35" or jeep offers a swing gate to relieve the tail gate of the extra load.

Winches: Be care full, not all winches fit in all Jk bumpers, I like the wran powerplant which includes the heavyduty aircompressor and a 9500lbs winch or if you on a budget the wran m8000 is a geeat value winch

You may also consider gearing with 35"+ tire sizes. Most Jk guys swing up to 5.13's to give the 4dr some extra low end power and great offroad performance

Thanks for the advice and input... I am leaning towards the Teraflex 3 or 4" lift and 35's. Funds will keep me from doing a long-arm kit plus I want to be ok with Jeep on the warranty. I like the looks of LoD stubby front bumper (you can re-use the stock fog lights) & the LoD rear bumper with swing out tire carrier (with recessed lights as well). The pricing from LoD seems to be good for the quality. They are beefy and the rear wraps under pretty good.

Any suggestions on shocks? I have heard it is worth doing the track bar from a few people (Jason above as well). Any other suggestions for parts I should change out at the time of the lift?

Thanks for the tip to call Brad @ Airpark Jason... he is looking into some pricing and will give me a call later.

So, Jason, you think the Warn 8000 is the best "value" out there if I am on a budget? I really like the Powerplant, but it is some serious do-re-mi! Not to mention, I have to buy the bumper first. Bumper plus "economical" winch is gonna set me back $1500 no matter how I look at it... I have consistently read good things about Superwinch and T-Max as lesse expensive alternatives. What are your thoughts/opinions?

Yes, you can buy a M8000 for under $600...Powerplants are not in most budgets $1400 seems to me the average price on them

For a few bucks more I like the Warn XD9000i over the 8000 just because of the slimmer look to it... it sits a little lower on the bumper. I found a guy that has them for $768.61 shipped... anyone find cheaper than that?

Offroad Rubi, where did you find that price for the XD9000i?!!? I may have to just buy it and have it sit in the garage until I can steal a bumper somewhere!!!

Hi RubiJk, I found the seller along my "jeep build journey" Let me make sure the source is legit... I want to see if mine will show without issues before I turn everyone on to it... but it looks good ;) I will keep you posted.

Hey Bulldog... what kind of lift and size did you go with? Are you happy with everything? Are those 35's?

OR,

It's the Rubicon Express 4.5" Long Arm with 37" BFG M/T, I have over 8K miles on it already and wheel it almost every weekend (and some week days :D).

I've been known to hit the trails up in the PHX area before, maybe I'll see ya. Good luck with your choices, there's a lot of quality stuff out.

I was told the same thing by the dealership, I could only do a factory 2.5" lift and that only the dealership that did the lift would carry the lifetime warranty. I was looking to get confirmation on this, has anyone run into the same thing?

When I bought mine they gave me the same BS, it's all in who you know. On a side note I wont let the dealer touch mine after what they did to a friend of mine.

Damn, that is one nice looking JK.

Thanks, I really like it. I get some grief about the wheels until they see I use it.

Hey Jeeper32, I have found many views on this, but I think it truly comes down to who you know. If you have a service advisor that knows how to word things or knows how NOT to word things on a warranty claim you are good to go. I had a GMC Duramax w/ an 8" lift on it that I was told was out of warranty / null / void, etc. I met a good service advisor that knew how "NOT" to word things on a claim and had all issues covered. Bottom line... he never mentioned the lift and all was well. Just my view ;)
