5 of us ran Dogbite today. I got a few pics. This trail is not for the faint of heart, I was small Jeep on the trail today, but just barely. A 4.5+ to 5 trail, body damage likely(I got just a little), breakage likely(Rick got some), winch required, and lots of AIST. Took us about 5 hrs to complete. Great day with some great wheelers. Don't laugh at the ramps, it is the only way to get your front even up the 1st fall, the undercut is huge, and all the way across.

This is the first fall, big and undercut.

Here is the undercut that keeps you from getting the front even up

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20345&stc=1&d=1209343249

Some perspective, Rick is over 6' tall.

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20343&stc=1&d=1209343249

I can't believe it is working!

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20339&stc=1&d=1209343249

Kind of freaky being the guinnea pig.

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20340&stc=1&d=1209343249

Sam was next

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20342&stc=1&d=1209343249

Then Kevin

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20341&stc=1&d=1209343249

Rick was next, but I got him on vid, so no pic. We move to Russ

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20344&stc=1&d=1209343249

Rick's buddy was so happy he did not die, he did a celebration flip off the fall.

Here is another obstacle, the "up and over/notch" Just one of a constant barrage of obstacles.

The left side is steep, and then the notch is tight and tippy to get through.

I love the reaction in the background....

This is the 2nd major fall. Big, undercut, double fall, with a steep, slick line on the right.

Sam on the second fall

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20364&stc=1&d=1209345763

and showing the undercut

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20365&stc=1&d=1209345763

Kevin showing how steep it is

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20366&stc=1&d=1209345763

halfway up

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20367&stc=1&d=1209345763

and up

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20368&stc=1&d=1209345763

Rick taking the right side of the fall, since the main line got dug out by the first 3 guys spinning. He couldn't get the front up, it kept hitting the bumper.

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20369&stc=1&d=1209345763

And Russ, same line, hammering down

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20370&stc=1&d=1209345763

The final fall is a 4 step fall, with a big hole in the middle you have to straddle, or risk flopping hard

Rick going up

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20371&stc=1&d=1209345763

Russ almost up

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20372&stc=1&d=1209345763

And Kevin trying the Chute

The only carnage of the day came from coming back out. Russ was first. He floated the rears about 2' while coming down the steep side. Rick tried the same thing............floated the rears about 3-4', and when he throttled out to keep from going over, he blew up an air shock, tweaked the DS and front upper link. It was AWESOME!!! I said, "Screw that!(but not screw)". The rest of us took the high road out.

Uh-oh.....

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20375&stc=1&d=1209346538

I don't think this is right.....

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20376&stc=1&d=1209346538

Upper link bent and DS...

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20374&stc=1&d=1209346538

I know 2 people got vid of the carnage, so I will see if I can find it. Again, great day wheeling with some great guys.

Just guessing, but by the looks of the rock and mineral, I'm thinking Superior area, or FJ.
Looks familiar, like I've explored there on foot.... I'm wrong thought, I'm sure, a lot of places look like that.

There is just no way to get a front end up without them. The undercut is huge, you would hit your HOOD before the tires touched.

x2

There is no possible way to even get your front tires to touch the rocks with the undercut. Even if you could you would still be climbing up and backwards with your tires. I really dont see any possible way to climb the first fall. I do think the second fall is climbable but the soft sand at the bottom was a killer. It just digs it out and makes it a horrible undercut.

Oh and let me point this out too. Going up those ramps was still extremely steep and made me want to :001_9898: a little!!! They werent stable and they really wanted to slide!!!

the more I think about it the more fun I had on this trail. It makes me really want to do the whole trail. Just keep going till it ends. Go out there on a Sat and wheel till it ends then figure out a way to get back. If it takes until Sun, oh well.

Have not run it since the original trip yet. On the "to do" list for this fall. With a smaller group, it should go a little faster this time, but who knows how overgrown it has gotten back to being. I bet quite a bit, except for the big dead stuff we cleared ot.
