Wish I could help you out. Currently restoring a 51 Willy "Farm Jeep." It's a little different than a wagon. Good luck with it!........Drew

That would be my Willys, I can recommend Desert Fab without hesitation. 4 Wheel suppy on Washington does good work too but usually backed up for 2-3 months.

x2 on Willys America for information on the saganaw conversion.

Hi Sean,

I am renovating a 1954 Wagon. Unfortunately I can't really help you with your power steering conversion. My wagon is using a 3/4-ton truck frame instead of the original. That meant the steering geometry had to be modified a bit. The original frame was messed up with the PO's engine swap done back in the '50s.

You might find the information you need on WillysTech.

Anyway, here's what we ended up doing. It might give you some ideas.

From the box on back we wanted to "retain" the original steering wheel-column appearance instead of stuffing a newer steering column through the firewall like a lot of people do. Here's a couple of pictures of what we had to do. BTW, the steering parts are a combination Flaming River and Borgesen, and I think MSC for the pillow block bearing.

Good luck!

We had to take some time off to do maintenance on the rest of the fleet so the project was delayed about a year or so, but we are back into it now.

The new windshield wiper system is finally installed and we will be starting on the brakes and transmission rebuild shortly.

If everything goes well, the wagon should be driveable, but probably not street legal, by the end of the year.

P14175 i am using the same colum, and mounting plate for the bottum and am planning on using the mount to the dash but i bougth a twenty eight inch and realiazed its short and was wandering what lenght worked for you. And it looks like the two inch dash mount?

I am using the following Flaming River Parts

PR20003 - 35" steel tilt, 1.75" OD
PR20102PL - Column drop 1.75" dia
FR20100 - Floor mount 1.75" dia

The column drop required additional reenforcement behind the dash.
The floor plate had to be re-made to fit the floor mount.

yeah i have the 1.75 floor mount and i too had to redo that section of the floor although i am using the 32 in colum but it seemed to work nicley when i mounted. and i am using the four inch mount for the top mount to the body.
