anyone have expiriance with a 135 wrangler or any other altinator?
I purchased a 135 amp altinator and installed it this weekend, nice looking set up, you remove the original charge wire, and replace it with a pos #2GA charge cable that conects straight to the battery along with a neg straight to the battery,
I ran it for a few, and re tightend the serpentine belt like it says, only after checking all conection etc
seens to work fine then I turned on ac ran some extirior lighting etc and noticed the volt meter on my 89 XJ drop almost into the red, this dosnt seem right at all, wondering if anyone else has done this mod?
i ran it up and down freeway and side streets running a bunch of stuff for 15 min +
but it all seems fine didnt see lights dim, and i looked at volt of bat right after I got back on my optima yellow top thats brand new, and it read like 13.8 I know it was a short run time to really test this out, all I had time for want to hook up some better guages, to see what its really doing...... what you guys think??????? dan

ok with a 135 amp alt shouldnt it be off set by that a lil bit? and when i turn on the ac it almost drops to the red with that alone, thats what with the old alt did I am not sure of what a stock XJ alt amp is but I thought it would be diffrent, now I have a volt guadge, i should be reading a amp guage, should i install better guades? to get better idea whats going on?

Doesn't the CPU regulate the voltage on these; is going straight to the battery a good idea here? What vehicle did this alternator come from?

This is how wrangler instructions say to do it and it still has a wire from the battery to the Jeep of course, the alt in my vehical has the regulator built in
