OK, so I was rebuilding my Dana30 and........just kidding!

Anyway, rebuilding my 60 with new Chromo shafts, superjoints, new wheel hubs, teraflex drive flanges, rebuilt kingpins, and replacing every seal, bearing, etc. Last night I discovered that I have an oddball...appears I need a Chevy long side and a Dodge short side inner???:aagh: So I'm waiting for parts again to continue since I have all Chevy sitting here. Here are a couple of pics of all the crap...

Notice to anyone using Yukon chromos...you will have to clearance your knuckles to install them...this is when I first started, I swear it looks better now!

Typically you hope that the shafts that came out are the same length as the new ones going in...not so much in my case...

This is about as bling as my POS gets!

I was curious to know why you replaced the hubs?

It is a military axle, so it had military (external) flanges. Concerned about shearing the bolts that held it all together.

What happened with the axles? And looking good.

Makes sense.

Two sets of chromos and every ear is worn out, so I am eating u-joints as fast as I can put them in...prefer to just start over rather than keep trying to use band-aid methods to keep it going...

im geussing you are running yukon shafts? i put alloy usa with ctms in my 60. so far so good. i also have dedenbear knuckles with the big cast in stops and havent ground them yet to tune the steering. are your stops set good? i know a buddy of mine that had stretched out a few 60 shafts cause the steering was really going to far. he put the dedens on and didnt have any more problems. i used polys flanges. flanges are soo nice. nothing to break. looks nice though. i found that some parts for more 60 were actually cheaper than my old 44 i had.

Actually, all of my new stuff is Yukon. Shafts and super joints together make for one sweet warranty package!:) I can't deal with Superior and Alloy's backorder issues (waiting 4 mos.+ for stub shafts, etc.). I really want Bobby's CV package, but have a hard time justifying the cost. I run stock knuckles (no issues yet), and am using Teraflex flanges. Looking forward to some wheeling!

What stroke steering actuator are you running? Do you have tierod mounted in stock location?

must be the chevy/dodge stuff thats on backorder. i got my stuff in 3 days and it was no biggy. i was lookin at the bobby long setup too, but i also couldnt justify the cost. at 1850 for the set thats a lot of coin and i really dont need to be able to turn 50* i would run into more issues with tires grabbing stuff than its worth. i figured you were running a rear tierod. how do you like the single sided ram? ive heard good and bad about them for front apps. for the rear its perfect. i look forward to wheeling with you.

That's true! I've never had double-ended rams, so I really don't have anything to compare it to? To me, double-ended is nearly twice the money and I've seen people have issues with their mounts letting loose? (Of course, I've ripped a mount off on my single-ended, COMPLETELY, so what the hell do I know?)
And again, Lance, thanks for the props! (you fargin bastage):smoking:
