I think he means the start of the dirt road at the N.W. side of Lake Pleasant.

Would love to come along - we have an '83 CJ-7 in stock configuration. Will it be ok for this run? Here is a pic of it.
This forum was recommended by a jeep owner I met up in Tortilla Flat. It looks like y'all have an awesome site, and I look forward to spending time both here and on the trail with the members!

Just registered with AZVJC and looking forward to meeting members on upcoming runs. Have I read right and see that the Crown King run is this weekend?

Welcome to the group. Overall, I found it to be a good group to learn from.
Stock CJs can handle the trail.

Here are the directions to the trail head
Directions: Exit I-17(heading north) at the Carefree Hwy 74. Head west roughly 11 miles and turn north (right) on Castle Hot Springs Rd (right past mile marker 19). Follow the paved road 5-6 miles. Turn left at the T and the pavement turns to dirt soon afterwards. That is the meeting spot.
I plan on being up there before 8 and leave at what always ends up a few minutes after 8
Stock CJ's should be able to handle it - mine's a stock 79 with only 33" tires and i've done it a few times
I just need to get far away from the office and i don't mind good company
See ya up there

Central Arizona Jeepers ( http://www.cazjeepers.org ) has a trailride scheduled for 3/29 destination Crown King. I'm hoping we can catch up with you all to say hello. Our route will be going up from the other side of the mountain through Wagoner. Hope to see you then!

This part looks awfully filled in. If I remember correctly, this use to be one of the best climbs...
