I found this for sale.

The body is straight, the steering is tight, and the V6 runs.

What year CJ5 is this and what's it worth?

Not much rust that I can see either.

Looking like a M38A1. Take one more pic of the full passenger side or look and see if there is hinges on the front grill to pivot it forward. If there is a big indention hole on the passenger where others say JEEP or the hinges it will be a m38a1.

225 Ci?

If anything under the hood (air cleaner or valve covers) says "Dauntless" it should be a 225 Oddfire (I belive the factory engine color was bronze / goldish color), those are kinda few a far between so alot of 231 even fire Buick V6's have made their way into the older Jeeps...

This should be interesting to see what people say about price. As I am just made a deal on a '55 that is a little more complete than this one, but mine has a pinto engine in it.

Good deal! The only thing major missing on this one is the windshield and windshield frame. Of course no top or doors either.

Value: Everything is worth what any one person will pay for it within the time you have to sell it

That being said, this Jeep is a hunting Jeep. Narrow short springs severly limit articulation. Probably has 2 piece 44 rear axle, 27 (closed knuckle) front, 5.38 gears, ross (worm gear pita for bigger tires) steering. Transmission has been changed (orig T90) to muncie 4 spd (there goes collectorability value).

IFF eveything works, $700-$1300 max (too many 4.0 YJ on market for under $2k)

If it's a Buick V6 it could be anything from a 198 to a 231. If it is the 198 walk away. If it is the 225 or any of the 231's it's ok. It looks like a $1000 to $1500 M38a1. :)

Hi Simon, good to see you on here. Thanks for the info.

A big thanks to the other answers also. I have a neighbor interested in it and
just want to see what it's worth for him. Also the guy selling it want to get rid
of it as he's moved on to other things.:)

X2 on the m38a1....... if the distributer in in front of the engine angled to teh drivers side, Buick. If in the back behind the carb, Chevy.
