Just Shaw Butte and Mt. Ord linked. From the west valley, your best bet is going to be Shaw Butte. What radio/antenna are you running?

I also ruined my perfect record. Sorry

I marked you down as an early check in. So you were counted.

There was a good mix...but it seemed that most got their license to have out on the jeep trail to use as emergency communications if needed.

Awesome net last night guys. I knew this topic had potential, but was still worried it would flop. It did anything but that thanks to everyone who participated. We had the most checkins ever and went 15 minutes long for our normal 1 hour time frame. Overall, the discussion was very good and I think that format worked well.

Enjoyed the net. I was the station that could not hold the repeater :( I was on 147.24 with my HT. Guess the buildings I was around didn't like to help out with 2M propogation :) lol. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the night run and future nets - hopefully I'll be in a better spot and be able to get the repeater!!

From your location with an HT you did pretty good! 25 RAINBOW RIDGE
ELLIJAY GA 30540

Come on, now that was funny! For real though, Not sure what your location is...and just incase you don't know Shaw butte 147.240 and Mt. Ord 146.920 are linked together. Maybe you can try both.

Hope to hear you on the net soon.

LOL! I'm in Phoenix right now with family, will be here till the end of the summer for school and work. I was transmitting from 19th and Baseline. My batteries were dying on the HT, and I was in the Lowe's parking lot. I'll try next week. The net sounded real interesting - the first time I had listened to it. Does anyone have a 2M mobile that they want to get rid of? lol

Topic: Search and Rescue - How do we as hams assist?

Announcements
1. Hunter 101 class June 21 at his shop
2. Emergency management class July 12 Falcon Field CAP
3. Formation of Jeep Emergency Extraction Party by Amber

Topics:
What is our role as hams/wheelers? 2 truck teams, 1 ham, 1 medic, intercommunication
Legal-liability, Good Samaritan, SO control
What training do we need? ICS, FA, extraction
How so we call out?/What about other off road groups? Help both ways
How can the ham community help us?
It makes perfect sense to use the resources of the Arizona Emergency Net - Maricopa in conjunction with the Virtual Jeep group on searches. No point in tying up off-road people on net administration duties when they could be out searching. Net Control, Alternate Net Control, online maps, weather reports, liaison to folks back home, ops normal checks, "flight following" for the deployed units, etc. can be handled by non-Jeepers. Good idea. If the Jeep community is in favor, let's talk details. Mike Pulley
Making it work
Relays/mountain top/power boost & cross band repeat
Who has HF?
APRS for documentation
Command, planning, coordination
