I want to get out in the rocks this weekend. And I would like to get out to the 'tanks again but would need a leader as I am not well versed there yet.
I was thinking of firebird or something along those lines.
I have a '96 ZJ 6.5" long arm locked in the rear on 33's.
EDIT:
Where to meet: Jack in the Box south of I-10 on Watson.
When: 8:00 AM March 22nd
Trails to be run: Tax Collector, Firebird,......... (I know there was mention of Turtle Falls as well, so lets hear if there are other trails that people want to run)
Those that are going to be there: (Please let me know if you are going to be there, tentative, or what)

I can show you some of the trails there. Any particular ones you are interested in? What time do you want to meet? I have to be off the trails by at least 2.

I was thinking of hitting Tax Collector and Firebird. I have run those once before and rather enjoyed Firebird.

Awcommon... We found the spot eventually!
I took some great pictures of the trails in the Tanks today... from about 4,000 feet. Maybe that'll help me stay on track.

I really hate to do this but I have to postpone this trip. As after I posted this I got a call from my cousin to help him move. The sad part is I put off wheeling the weekend before so I could help him but he never called then.
Can we do this next Saturday morning?

I'll be in Vegas next weekend. Maybe this picture will help find the trails. The top of the shot shows a loop that I believe is part of intimidator and turtle falls.

The 22nd sounds fine with me as well.
I ended up taking a quick run out there today after the work was done. Ran Tax Collector and half of Firebird. I would have finished firebird but the wife was getting motion sickness (she wasn't ready for this trail yet).

What area of the tanks is Tax Collector and Firebird? I live in buckeye just off of the I-10 and have played in the tanks a few times.

South end, enter at Watson road. Just keep heading North and find a wash. Lots of good trails out there if you don't mind the trash.

Detention, come out with us on the 22nd. I have only been out to that area once before and was still able to find my way to those two trails.

I hope I'll be going. If I had known what trail was on the agenda yesterday @ TM I wouldn't have gone. Little did I know - that it was L Terminator. :pinch: It was definitely fun. I just have a slight problem, put a hole in the "backside" of the diff......... It got pried out, cleaned up & duct taped up. Ran rest of day without any issues. At least I didn't blow 3 tires on that trail like another guy in our group. Will be talking to Joe @ Absolute Offroad :)

What are the ratings on those trails? I've got a '91 YJ with a bit of a lift, some 33 MT's, a manual tranny, and stock everything else. I'd love to go but don't want to bite off more than I can chew. :)

There's trails you can make in a stock rig. My main issue has been running open/open.

I would love to go. How long do you think it would take because I work nights and have to be at work @ 1800 hours and need to get some sleep.:sleeping2:

I was thinking of running Tax collector and Firebird. Both of these can be run with the specs you list. But just as always you have to pick a line that is right for you and also decide if you want to take the hard line or not.

It all depends on how long you want to stay. How does 8:00 AM sound? And rather than meeting at the normal airdown spot (since there is so much trouble with the PD out there) let's meet at the Jack in the Box just south of I-10 at Watson. We can airdown there and make the short trip up to the trails.
I will edit first post with purposed changes and keep it upto date.

Sorry guys but I'm going to have to fall out of this one. I'll try to be at the posted run next week on the 30th though. I would love to have seen ArizonaSunshine give another shot at Turtle Falls though. She came really close even without the lockers.

Went thru Tax Collector/Firebird today - Majority of group headed over to Scorpion, we went with David/RockFinder, due to problems with his XJ didn't do TieRod.
So some time down the road I still want to do Turtle Falls - I can definitely tell the difference having lockers, also couple times where rear lockers would have been beneficial today. Cannot do any runs next 2 weekends.

Thanks to all who made it out. I had alot of fun and it was great meeting you all. Everyone did a good job on the trails.
Detention, dude I feel bad about the beauty mark on your rocker.
rockfinder, what happened to your ride? I am sorry that I didn't know that something was amiss with your Jeep.
I will post up the pics that Cuyler took, when I get home from work tomorrow.
