How about if you want to add a set of backup lights that you can

want to switch into reverse to get light? (Does that make sense?)

Subject: Front tires Wobbles when breaking

For the last few days I've started to feel in the wheel and looking
out the window I see the front tires wobbling when I apply the
breaks... It did it a few weeks ago really bad so I got under the
jeep and made sure all my tie rods were good and tight and did a few
adjustments. It seems fine for a few weeks, but now has returned
slightly.

Has anyone experienced this, if so what should I be looking for such
as wear and tear?

Lachlan,

Look above your transmission. That is where the reverse switch is on
your manual. There are two purple with white stripe wires that plug into
the harness. One supplies 12V into the switch the other completes the
circuit to the rear backup lights. Now install a dash switch and relay.
Then run a power line to the second wire that runs to the back BEHIND
the transmission reverse switch. I'd tap the relay into the first power
lead so you are always drawing from the same fuse. Now you can either
manually turn on the lights or use the reverse switch to turn them on.
If you are really courageous you could open up the harness under the
hood to tap in.

I feel dangerous ever since I wired up that AW4.

Do you already have backup lights? If so, just run a hot wire thru a toggle
switch to the hot side of the lights. Then when you want to use them while
not in reverse just turn on the switch. If you don't have backup lights
already just wire 1 side of the lights to ground. On the other side run a
wire to the backup switch on the tranny. Run another wire from the same side
to a toggle switch. Then run the other side of the switch to the batteries,
or fuse panel. You can also use a relay if you want but it's not required.

Hi Stu,

Can you tell us what Troy's relationship is with the new store? I'm a little torn here because the store is opening near Offroad Unlimited and Desert Rat... there is also a Fly-N-Hi a few miles from where they are opening. I find it curious that someone would plop another offroad store right smack in the middle of a location where there are already three somewhat large offroad stores.

It seems to me that there are so many offroad stores around... I wonder how they all are going to survive. I can tell you this however... if push comes to shove, I'll be supporting the stores which have supported me over the long haul; stores like 4 Wheeler's Supply and to a somewhat lesser extent; Offroad Unlimited.

I'm trying not to cop an attitude... but for some reason, their choice of location really bother's me. I can think of dozens of locations here in the East Valley where there are absolutely NO offroad shops within a 5 mile radius yet they choose to open in a location where there are three existing shops in a three mile radius.
This tells me something Stu... and it probably doesn't take much intelligence to figure it out.... and it pisses me off.

You'd think I'd be happy having another choice so close to where I live... however... I see this as a move by a larger company to take out the small guy... and you know what; I don't like it.

I will do my best to see that we continue to support the shops who currently exist... and if there is not enough business to go around, it is my extreme hope that it is 4 wheel parts wholesalers who goes out of business.... and no other shop. While I don't care a great deal for Desert Rat or Fly-N-High... I do care a great deal about Offroad Unlimited and even more about 4 Wheeler's Supply... I would hate to see these guys hurt because someone larger opens a shop right next door (in the case of Offroad Unlimited) and they can't compete. Ahhh... yes... it is the way of business; only the strong survive... capitalism at it's best... rah rah shis boom bah!

I'll be leading the cheers when they close shop and I'll do my best to remind others in our group to continue to support our existing small business owners.

Joe,

I respectfully disagree. If somebody puts Fly-N-Hi, Offroad Unlimited, and Desert Rat out of business it will be their own undoing (just like what happened to Dick Cepek Offroad Centers). These shops have poor customer service and inflated prices. If they continue to do so they will become extinct. It's like the law of the wild, Joe. Let the strong survive and the weak perish. If they chose that spot "on purpose" its because they knew that customers in that area were unhappy. Whats wrong with healthy competition? It's good old American Capitalism :)

There is a True Value Hardware in Avondale I go to. I go to the Orange Shed or Lowe's if they don't have what I need. Why? Try getting help at these big stores. At the family owned True Value I can't walk through the aisle for more than 2 minutes without somebody offering me assistance. As long as a business provides customer service that is top notch and prices are fair they have nothing to worry about. Let these other businesses learn these lessons. That being said I will continue to spend my money at 4 Wheelers Supply. Don't forget to ask for Barry :D

Joe,

As far as I know, ORU hasn't cared about AzVJC members since they
instituted "new management", at least in Mesa. I am not sure how to
define the "new management". I have shopped at ORU for 15 years and
as of lately they have no concerns for me, my business or AzVJC as a
group, IMO.
Desert Rat is an "on again, off again" relationship with AzVJC. I
think they could do better for themself and us, this is JMO.
Flying High can go take a flying leep, after what I have seen them
pull with our members.
I really, really, really (did I say that enough, lol) appreciate the
service and people at 4 Wheelers Supply. My problem with them is,
about 3:00PM when I need a part. The driver over to Phoenix isn't
that bad, the drive back just stinks. Plus, if I ask for the wrong
part (because God knows they wouldn't give me the wrong part, LOL)
and I have to return it, I spend a bunch of time in my vehicle
*****ing myself out. Dang, I wish 4 Wheelers would open a shop in
Chandler or South-Central Mesa, (hint, hint, maybe it is too late).

This being said, it will take a long time for any new parts place to
win over my business. Especially, one with Troy's name behind it,
knowing what happened the last time I tried to buy one of his
products, maybe that was a fluke. I do agree with Scott competition
is good.

Hi Scotty,

As I said& there is nothing wrong with good ole American Capitalism. The problem I have is with 4 wheel parts wholesalers is their choice of opening location& not with them coming here. Business is ruthless, put the other guy out of business is the name of the game& okay fine. I can be ruthless too&

By the way; theres another good ole American trait& loyalty. Ill pay more (within reason of course) to support our local guys& and I damn sure dont forget how much they contribute to our club.

Well see what happens with 4 wheel parts wholesalers& but I cant help but wish them all the worst.

By the way& I live in Mesa so I get to ***** more.
