90% chance that it's the battery. Sounds absolutely typical for a battery
giving up the ghost.
Take it to Autozone, they'll check the battery for free, as will most of the
stores, like Checker, Pep Boys, etc.

OK...your comments are confusing (IMO). You say it acts like the
battery is dead. But....does the starter motor actually turn the engine
over? When you say that you "finally got it to fire up", what does that
mean? Did you have to jump start it? Did you just keep turning the key
and the starter motor finally turned it over?
If you did have to jump start it (using booster cables), then I would
say yes, you battery is certainly dead. TJs will not idle when the
battery is dead or severely discharged.

I have a 2000 wrangler sport that currently will not start.
the problem started about a week ago. late at night we go to leave my
parents house and it doesn't want to start. like the battery is dead.
no lights were left on or anything. I finally got it to fire up and
it dies right away. so I start it again and same result. so I start
it and run it upto 1500-2000 RPMS for a few minutes and then try to
let it idle. Still wants to die. so I ran it upto 1500-2000 again for
about 5 minutes. After that it would idle and restart just fine.
So then a few nights ago we bought a new CD and while waiting for
family at a resturant we listen to the CD for 10 minutes. when I
tried to start it it acted like the battery was dead again. so I get
it going finally let it idle high again for a bit just in case the
battery ins't holding a lot of charge. After that it
ran/idles/started just fine.
Yesterday I go out and it does the same thing and dies instantly. I
try it again and now it has a rapid clicking. Sort of like a toy
machine gun. The odometer seems slow to light when the key is turned
to the on position. I don't understand the clicking. All signs seem
to point to the battery but why it would be clicking I have not been
able to figure out.
Would this be the selanoid? I've never had one click in rapid
succesion like this.
If it where the heck is it (couldn't seem to spot it). also can I do
the old screw driver accross the terminals to get it to the
dealership to get it repaired under warrenty. I really don't want to
have the thing towed.
Thanks for any suggestions you have.

I'm looking for some nicer looking aftermarket 15" wheels (7"~8" width) that have some 31"~32" all terrain tires on them (the more street-like the tread is the better) that someone has tossed in their garage and want a little Christmas pocket cash for. Because I haven't been all that happy at work lately, I agreed to meet with him even though it all seemed a little odd to me. Turned out that Primerica is a pyramid type business where you are your own "office". You train a few new people and get a percentage of commission from them and move up the pyramid(they call it a hierarchy). Not what I had in mind from what he said on the phone
but
pretty much what I expected from my initial reaction to the call.

I don't doubt that at all and I wasn't slamming anyone. I hope that was clear. I just thought the address to apply to was funny.
I know some of the guys that used to work at ORU are looking for jobs in the 4x4 industry. I talked to one of them not to long ago and got the "low down" on what was going on with ORU. He also talked about a new 4x4 shop coming to the valley. If they haven't heard about this place, this post might help them. I know they lurk here.
You mentioned that the new store is going in around CC & Broadway. That's interesting. Only about a mile away from ORU, maybe there is more to this....

food. The police stopped him, put him in the patroll car and took him
back to the Hotel. They told him that people of my son's color
shouldn't be walking through Compton alone. My son didn't argue.

Hi:
I'm getting ready to sell a rig of mine and would like to save my 33" MTRs and beat up wheels for my other rig (not because they're nice, but because they are already beat up from trail duty). I'm looking for some nicer looking aftermarket 15" wheels (7"~8" width) that have some 31"~32" all terrain tires on them (the more street-like the tread is the better) that someone has tossed in their garage and want a little Christmas pocket cash for. You can contact me at kevinfell@kevinfell.com if you have something fitting the description. Thanks a bunch! I will pick up...no hassle on your part necessary.

Another thanks to Mike and Randy for putting it together and Gloria
for cooking and working the raffle booth.
Can't wait for the next run!

I would like to appoligize to anyone that was offended by my call. I am new to Arizona and I don't know alot of people as I said on the phone. I have found most in the group to be very helpfull. I wanted to give my fellow jeepers first chance at this oppertunity. As for it being a telemarketing call, it wasn't that at all. I am not trying to sell anything. Our company is growing and we are looking for honest, hard working people to open and run new offices. I have been able to meet with a few members of the group and have helped a couple a great deal in their lives. Because of the law I cannot say who they are but I hope they read this and come forward. As for this being a pyramid they are illegal. Again I am sorry if I have offended anyone and I will not be calling other members of the group.

I got a call from Ray Bordon from Primerica, a division of
CitiGroup.
He told me they were looking to open new offices and were looking
for
people for management positions. At first I thought it was someone that had just gone to the AZVJC website and grabbed the phone numbers. I looked him up and he is a new member so I thought it
might
be legit. He said he talked to a few members in the club and they
had
said I'm a good guy. Anyone remember talking to Ray Bordon about "good guys" in the AZVJC??? He has a mostly stock black '95 YJ if that helps. Please
let
me know if you talked to him. I'd like to know if that was BS.

Hi:
I don't follow the list that closely anymore, so if this had been discussed in the past, please forgive me, but I got a call this evening from a Southern man named Sam (623-872-6374) who
identified
himself as a local VJC member. I was happy to chat for the first minute or two as we exchanged pleasantries, but then he turns it
into
a telemarketing call. That's right, a stranger who got my number from the list and wanted to get me into a new business venture!
Just
curious if anyone else has been contacted by Sam (or anyone identifying themselves with local Jeepers) and how you have
handled
it. I was pleasant, but became rather irate after I hung up and thought about it. Anyone have this same thing happen to them?
How
did you react?

Well I just drove by the building today and there was a trailer parked out in the lot with 4wheel parts signs on it. They were also painting the exterior.

I get their little sales brochure monthly......they have been showing this store as a coming soon for almost 6 months. I called them last month to buy something, and asked about when the Mesa store was going to open and he told me "your guess is as good as mine".

I didn't think they knew what a Jeep was in Compton. You would have
to visit Compton to know what I am talking about. There have been
some great basketball players that came from there though.
Thanks for the information Ed, I just couldn't resist.
No, I am not being racist this is the truth, I am not a racist and I
sure wouldn't walk through Compton. To give you an idea, my son went
there for a BB torunament in Compton and walked to get some fast
food. The police stopped him, put him in the patroll car and took him
back to the Hotel. They told him that people of my son's color
shouldn't be walking through Compton alone. My son didn't argue.
