agreed, where did you hear this?

Based on the conversations you and I had on the way to Packer, you aren't the most reliable source of information.

To all OHV enthusiasts:
I just received the following notice regarding Prescott National Forest visions for the Forest Plan. This specifically relates to the back way to Crown King so ALL of you that use this trail PLEASE GET INVOLVED. I know there is a HUGE push by the private land owners to close this route so it’s up to ALL of us to keep this open.

Please post this on your individual lists………….. Thanks,

Sandee

i got a copy of the agenda for the meeting this next weekend for those that live in CK (although its an open meeting). The Forrest service is NOT on the agenda nor is anything about closing the Ora Bella road. Maybe it got added since the agenda came out, my mail take a long time to get to me.

The meeting is every year; topics this year are fire prevention, the Americor folks that are in town thru the summer, etc. what to do with your trimmings and brush, all sorts of fun stuff.

Despite the noise, dust, jerks that cuss inside the store, rude people, drunks, quads, quads that go off the road at night need 911, noise, etc. The town lives on visitors and the ora bella road is a major draw. so I dont think you are going to find much local support for closing anything.

I received this via email this morning, its the flyer that was mailed to property owners in Crown King and has the meeting agenda.

It does not say anything specific about the road but... It might be something the FS has in mind as part of an overall plan. They seem (my opinion) to want to be less responsible and do less to maintain the public use areas of the forest

Another note I received today says "Just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a meeting at the fire dep't. this Saturday at 10 A.M. The Forest Service will be there to discuss their 20 year plan for our national forest and the possible closure of the Crown King work station. I feel that this is very important and that everyone should make an effort to be there. Americorp. will also be presenting a program and there will be a potluck following. "
