Looking for a jeep/camp recommendation.
Friend wants to hike a bit, I want to Jeep a bit. As he only has a H3, I'm thinking its just 2-2.5 tops for him. So, recommendations on someplace to camp, light a fire, steak and beer for this weekend. Hows the top of 4 peaks? Open? campfire safe ?
Make a suggestion, bring a tent..should be a nice weekend.
Thanks !

An H3 in the Dirt!!!!! Are you MAD man!!!!!
um, seriously.......as said before, Four Peaks would be great for both. Sunflower would be good if you want to play on some slightly harder stuff while keeping him safe from those meany rocks, the Camping and hiking there is incredible too.
Last suggestion is the queen valley area, there is a lot of dirt roads, simple trails, good camp areas and great scenery but you can still find a few challenges to play on with the Jeep

Many thanks. The Rangers say no road closures and no fire restrictions. On top of having the H3, the friend is saying "but...it'll be cold!.." HA! Fer cryin' out loud.. it's not like we have to pack all the gear in on foot.. LOL!

This is a good time of year to check out the Superstitions area. Flowers are blooming, weather is perfect. Up by Queen Valley, Hewitt Station area or Florence Junction area. here's a couple pics from last Saturday

very nice Pic.. Will need to get out there with the Mrs.
Thanks all for the hints. Think it'll be 4 Peaks and the Brown's Peak trail, but will keep the rest in mind for another day.

Hey,
I know a great place. It's where we are going this weekend. Near Gen Crook trail off the I-17. Myself and a few freinds are heading out there Thursday and then gonna do some wheelin' in Sedona on saturday (only about 20 mi. from the campsite). You guys are more than welcome to meet us there. I'll send you a PM.
