Hello All,

I just discovered this web site today.
I'm currently in PA near Philly. I'll be moving to Ahwatukee soon and thought I would post this to see if any of you know anyone looking for an Windows admin.

I have 11 years experience and also know Cisco and some VOIP.

I used to live in Mesa but when my wife got pregnant she wanted to be by her family so I had to move. Now we're ready to come back.
Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to move out there and then find a job....that's a bit scary.

I see lots of views but no replys.:)

I think I will have to just move out there and hope for the best.

Check with University of Phoenix. They have all sorts of online degee programs and hire techies all the time. On top of that, your college (masters deg, etc) is 100% free, paid holidays, techies get to wear jeans to work, and the break rooms for the techies ALL have Playstations, xbox 360's, etc. :D
I work as a counselor in the military division and have been pretty happy there. If you are looking for their website, look under Apollo Grp (owning company)

Thanks for the tip. I checked out their website and they only have an opening for a Sr. PC Technician right now.

I checked the web site and couldn't find where they post their job openings online.
I'm sure I can find a job once I'm there but I'd feel better having one beforehand.

I've been doing Contract for for the past year, because I couldnt find a good permanent network admin job. When I moved out here 6 years ago, I came without a job and it took 9 months for me to find one. You maybe luckier than I was. Good Luck.

9 months! Wow that's scary. There's a lot of positions available according to the online job boards.....I'm surprised you can't find anything you like.

Here are some Yahoo groups related to AZ tech/internet job searching.
I used them when I was in Oregon and looking for work here. I hope they are of some use to you.

Post your resume on Monster and specify you're looking to relocate to the Phoenix area.

I'm a *nix guy so I can't really help on the M$ side, but good luck to you.

Thanks a lot. :)

I posted my resume on Monster and Careerbuilder stating I wanted to relocate to Phoenix.

However, my location is set as PA. I don't want to lie to a potential employer.

I get 3-4 calls a week for jobs in Philly but nothing from AZ.

My wife and I lived in Mesa before and then she got pregnant and wanted to go back east to be around her family. Now we're ready to come back once our house sells.

We have a nice chunk of change saved up so we can get by for a while. But I'm just a little nervous because we do have a 4 and 6 year old now.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Right :fashizzle:

You may want to take a look at Craigslist. I was scanning the site today, and found a lot of current postings up there.

My 2c. Change your profile location to AZ. At least that way they will call you and then you can explain your situation on the phone. Most of the people that call you from your profile are headhunters anyway, so you can make contacts and get them working/looking for you.

Try posting your resume on http://www.employmentavenue.com/ and on craigslist. I was in the same boat. Wife wanted to be near family (Boston) then never helped out with kids or came over. Short version Were Back...
