Subject: Re: My point of view

If it makes you feel better to be embarrassed for me, then so be it.
Your ability to use complex words in your diatribes does not make your
opinions any more or less rubbish than those of the next person. The
fact that you feel you must insult those with differing opinions
indicates to me that you really need to live a few more lives to "get
it", as you put it. I respect your opinions, but I don't feel I have to
insult you to get my point across.

To be clear, I am not personally offended by any of your posts. But
others might be. You have insinuated that those who do not prescribe to
your way of thinking are small-minded, idiotic, racist, single-celled
organisms with a small intellect who you are embarrassed to be
associated with. Since most people in this group (and in real life) do
have differing opinions, you are doing a good job at insulting and
alienating a lot of people.

regards,
darren

Subject: Re: Re: BFG Krawler update

Interesting. In 4 years of hard wheeling out here I have seen, first hand,
every major type of tire go down in flames ;)
I've seen sidewalls rip in BFG MT's and AT's, TSL radials, TSL's, MT/R's,
SSR's and SX's and a whole handful of less know brands and models.
Yes, even the SX's, first hand, last one was on a run last year the end of
last year, or the beginning of this year, can't remember the date for sure.
Amazingly, to me, I've run BFG MT's, SSR's and now MT/R's, and have never
ripped a sidewall. Don't know why. I run the tougher stuff. People in front
of me have ripped sidewalls, people behind me have ripped sidewalls, people
next to me have ripped sidewalls. Go figure. Now, having said that, I'm
sure, tomorrow, when I go play on an easy trail, I'll rip all 4 sidewalls
LOL ;)
Anyway, to me, traction is a little more important than having a tire with a
6 foot think sidewall that weighs 150 lbs each ;)
Since the MT/R's have been tough 'nough, and, so far, since I've seen
nothing available to the retail market, that matches their traction on the
type of stuff that I run, I'm stick'n with 'em ;) When I rip one, well,
that's what the Discount certificates are for :)
I think that much of the craze with the MT/R's is because they work (at
least here in the west on rocks), and work, probably better than anything
else available in the retail market, IMHO. I've been slow to climb onto the
MT/R bandwagon, just finally getting my first set a month or so ago. But to
say that I'm impressed with 'em, is a huge understatement :)

Best,
Fred

An INDIVIDUAL has the RIGHT to be as biased and bigoted as he/she
chooses to be; businesses and the GOVERNMENT do not. People need to
understand this fundamental difference.

As an individual, I can choose who I want to be my friends; who I choose
to associate with is MY business and nobody else's. Nobody has the
right to force me to tolerate anyone else -- definitely not the
government. If I am an employer, I have certain limitations that are
established by law, but these laws do not and cannot apply to my
personal life.

I don't have to LIKE your lifestyle, or you or what you do. BUT I am
(and many other veterans are) willing to fight to the death to protect
your right to live the way that you want. But you still can't force me
to accept it and "be your friend."

I think once people stop getting confused between an individual's RIGHT
to be different and an individual's RIGHT to accept or not accept that
difference, this country will be a lot better off.

Your statement "I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because
they
are different, weird, or tick me off." needs to be addressed. You live
in
America, land of the free, with liberty and justice for all. Our
constitution gives people the right to be different, weird, any probably
the
right to irritate small minded people.

Hey Kim,

How old is that 8274? What condition is it in? Was it used a

Mitch,
I think you missed the main point of that little section of the original
post. Or I could have missed it... I have done that before. But I
interpreted it as that just because I see it as wrong doesn't make afraid of
them, or make me hate them, or exclude them. So why would seeing it as wrong
make me a homophobe?

There are a few people in this group that don't what to hear anything that
has to do with church/religion of any type. They see any type or organized
religion as wrong and they voice that opinion. Am I correct in saying that
would be bigotry also? Are they religaphobe because they see organized
religion as wrong?

I don't argue that there are a lot of people that do fear gays and think
that if they work with them, or say hi to them, or are stuck in a group with
some one who is gay, they themselves will become gay. Don't even get me
started on the stupidity of that thought process. Not only is it stupid its
wrong. That would be like saying if you said hi to me you would become
fat... Yeah whatever....
Have a good day at work!

I would of like to have seen what ripped the SX. As far as tires go there
are a few Swampers, MT/Rs, PJs,ETC that are all about the same as far as
traction goes from what I have seen. I have done all the tough trails and
have not seen another tire do anything that I could not with my 38.5 TSL
SXs. I also think that as long as you have a tire with a soft compound that
sticks to the rocks good the rest is driver skill.

Best,
Fred

Robert,

I'm on a diet and have been going to the gym 6 days a week. (That was
my New Year's resolution, and I've stuck to it for over 10 months now!!)
So if I see you at the coves cleanup, could you please not say hi to me?
<grin> I don't want to ruin 10 months of hard work. Call me an
obesophobe if you like, I don't care... :)

Easiest way from N Scottsdale is to take Shea to the end. Hang a
left, then look for the Lake turn off on the right. It is a few
miles down, and well signed. After you take the right, follow it
down till you see Butcher Jones. Go to the back of the parking lot,
and you will see the green gates open.

Subject: SEDONA This weekend

I'm going to be in Sedona this weekend, does anyone know of any events
that are happening this weekend?

The girlfriend likes the arts, "zZzZzZzZz" The boy and I would like to
check out some trails.... after the walking nap. Any suggestions on
both would be appreciated.

I know of a couple of great events.

One id the coves clean up and then you can go right up the street and
see the Fountain Hills Arts and Crafts.

But you should not miss the Coves Clean up.

I'm going to be in Sedona this weekend, does anyone know of any events
that are happening this weekend?

The girlfriend likes the arts, "zZzZzZzZz" The boy and I would like to
check out some trails.... after the walking nap. Any suggestions on
both would be appreciated.

Hell, if I would've know you were there, I would have just asked for
you! :-)

Actually it worked out great... Because I couldn't find out if they had
one in stock, I still hadn't bought the lock right when Ryan posted one
last night for 1/3 the price of new! If they would have answered their
phone, I probably would have already gotten it. Thanks guys!

I know everybody has been bagging on Desert Rat, but I've never had any
problems there. I've been to the one on Rural and I-60 several times
and have always been helped right away. It may help that every time I
go in there I already know exactly what I want, but the guys I've talked
to have always seemed friendly and knowledgeable. I know they're not
the "officially sanctioned azvjc parts store", but like I care. :-)

Now Lopers on the other hand... It'll be a cold day in hell before I
ever step foot inside that place again.

Scout rear axles are always centered and 5 on 5.5 if
it's a half ton truck. They are usally 58 or 60 inches
wide which is just right for a TJ.

The front is a different matter. Scouts use a positive
[forward] caster, which is the opposite of most
vehicles including Jeep. This means having a shop [or
a well equipped individual, grind and rotate the
knuckle yokes to the proper degree of caster [in
relation to a level pinion angle].

Also, I don't know how many, if any, were Driver's
side differential.

Subject: need your opinion

Ok its opinion time. First off, I am looking at buying a new Jeep.
Most likely a Rubicon. So where is the best dealership to go to and
get treated fairly? If one such thing exsist. I live in the east
valley, but will make the trip anywhere if I need to. (I will NOT
got to earnhardts though) Second question, is the Rubicon really
worth it compared to buying a sport and upgrading it? I think so but
I am not as up on all the mechanical stuff as some of you out there.
thanks
Chris George
