Took the jeep and family out for some serious abuse Saturday. The most unforgiving trail ever. The most nasty, body thrashing, axle snapping trail in AZ; thats right, Castle Hot Springs!!!

Hold a on a sec. You should be whipped for putting those kids in that situation! Someone could have got killed!!!

Who says all-terrains are no good? Look where they took you.

Fun... great post. Trips like that with the fam are awesome!

I love that run. Was there any water flowing in the river, besides the little you came across?

I was shown up by two old ladies in a mini van once on that road. :D

Let me tell you, there was a point there when I thought we were going over for sure. At that point I realized that hitting this trail alone was probably a bad idea. But then a nice old married couple waved as they passed by in their Saturn... Gave me the courage to continue on.

Yeah, No BS, I really like my BFG AT's. For me they are the perfect blend of street performance and off-road capability. But then I don't do hard-core rock crawling. So... Well, I'm hitting up broken arrow for the first time this weekend. I'll see how they do.

You should be shot! Jeeps are TRAIL RATED, and that sir, was no trail. It looked more like a - gravel road. Jeeps were not made to take this sort of torture. If they were, they would be Hummers. And those poor children. You probably thought their little screams were laughs and giggles, but I'm sure they will never be the same.

Putting them through such horror at such a young age will most likely result in them become outdoors people. They'll never be able to enjoy living in places like California. where is CPS when you need them?

Remember... if you didn't run all the obstacles, you didn't really run the trail!! Sorry..., you have to follow the Saturn thru the obstacles!! <J/K>

Looks like fun. Any day out in the Jeep with the kids and the top down is a good day.

Happy Trails,
Ron

Thanks! I know it's not as built up as most of the rigs on here, but I'm really proud of how it looks!

Nena is a great sponsor here, and can give you good advise on the trails up there. Your Jeep is well suited for most of the trails in the area, and the scenery is fabulous!

Ya know, I don't care if you "did" Anaconda or Castle Hot Springs, at least you and the family got out and "did" something rather than sit in front of the boob tube...

JMHO...

Well, I've given it alot of thought. And from looking at your picture, it seems you rig should be capable. But do you have the nerve, the confidence in yourself, the sheer insanity to throw caution to the wind and run this trail? I've seen many a brave man break town into tears at the trail head. But, If you think you've got what it takes, your Jeep should do just fine.

Oh, but don't run it at night! What with only the one axillary light on your bumper. You will definitely need two!

Take the US-60 (Grand Ave) from Surprise/Glendale/Young Town/El Mirage/Phoenix/whatever. Anyway, take it north to just before Wickenburg, turn right on to castle hot springs road (cant remember the mile marker off the top of my head, but it's about ten miles before you get to the Shell Station). This road is the trail, runs for about 30 miles and dumps you off at lake pleasant!
