Last year, when I ran the Rubicon, I would say that the Little Sluice, in its current condition, was nearing a 5. (a couple of years back, they blasted the Little Sluice rock face&..with technology ramping up, it had become too easy&.so now it isnt any easy.) Granted, you can take the bypass and so the trail is only rated as hard as the toughest obstacle that can not be bypassed. Old Sluice will, IMO, still get your attention as well.

Does anyone have knowledge of this or any other suggestions? I am just finishing up an AT for 5sp swap if anyone wants info on this, drop me a line.

I still remember getting a hummer stuck up to its door handles in a mud hole
that my Jeep walked through in 2WD...
Hummers equipped from the factory to do a class 5 trail??? Only if it has a
winch and the owner plans on dragging it by the winch through the entire
trail... The only type of "wheeling" the hummer is well suited for is fast
off-road driving like desert racing - although the diesel engines in them
aren't well suited for that either.
Now take a hummer, chop about 15" out of it lengthwise and about a foot out
of its BODY widthwise, and drop in a 500+ CI big-block. Add softer springs
that'll allow it to actually USE the 18" of suspension on something other
than a 10ft drop off then you might have a hummer capable of doing some
"hard core" rock crawling trails... like RAW DEAL ... :P

Actually, I just called Tera yesterday on this subject. They'll be using Ford 8.8 stuff (nearly identical to ZJ). They indicated that the kit will be out sometime after the first of the year.
The rotors will have both 5 on 4.5 and 5 on 5.5 pattern.

Howdy! The Jeep Roundup at the ranch is still on my list. I am
thinking about early December (let everyone get through Thanksgiving
first). This would be a daytrip to Sedona, convoy out to the ranch,
lunch, Jeeping and horseback riding. The Jeep options include our
3.5 Apache Ambush course, or some lighter scenic tripping around
(2.0+). I am working out costs right now (for the food and horseback
rides).
Any feedback from the group?
Happy trails,

Subject: TJ won't idle. Need help!
I was doing about 65mph yesterday when my check engine light came on.
When I came to a stop, the Jeep wouldn't idle. It runs very rough
until it reaches about 1500 rpm, then runs fine anywhere above that.
I thought I smelled fuel, but I didn't see any black smoke. I have
60,000 mi. on my Jeep, I replaced spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor at
about 45,000mi. Could it be the o2 sensor? Or maybe the TPS or MAP
sensor? The Jeep is a 99 TJ with 4.0L auto. Any comments or

Mine was doing that a couple weeks ago and believe it or not.... it
was the battery. It would not idle when I first started it up, and
would run crappy until the alternater could charge up the battery.
Since I've been driving short distances lately it never got a chance
to charge and kept leaking over night... or while it sat there. I
threw in a new Optima and it works great. I would pull your battery
and take it to Checker and have them check it. Free and only takes a
couple minutes! -Rob

It looks like your bolt pattern is the smaller Wrangler bolt pattern, Would this conversion work if you had the Warn 5x5.5 full floaters in the rear ? If so, you would need different rotors or have the ZJ rotors re-drilled. Just a thought or observation. I have the 5x5.5 conversion on mine and used the Warn disc conversion with Caddy calipers, I can tell you the Warn disc conversion sucked on my Wrangler, Warn says you may have to bend the brackets to make them work properly, yes you certainly do but the Caddy calipers are a bad choice but necessary if you want an Ebrake. I went back to drums (but the bigger 10" ones from a ZJ) due to continuing problems with the calipers.

Subject: [az_vjc] [Tech] 2000 TJ - Rear Discs for D44-00TJ
Am looking for info on converting rear drums to discs on my 00TJ with Dana 44 axle. I have ben told that the rear discs from a 95-96 Grand Cherokee are a direct bolt on swap.

Check out my friend Stu's site. He has done this swap.

Stu's source for the custom retainer brackets no longer makes them. There is good news though, Tera is supposed to be making the new retainer plates necessary for the ZJ brake swap.

Any comments or
suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
