yeah it is already SOA. Just need to put some arch in them to get the lift basically. Then match the coils to the height.

Yeah, um, I can't read too well... I read Rob's post wrong,
(too much candycorn last night) and thought he said that their
products *aren't* very good. Then, I figured he was just kidding, so
I went with the "rock buggies" thing. I think I am ok now. I little
less trick-or-treating for me next year. Sorry, Rob. I think I will
shut up now.

Damon,
Can't tell you about the repeater, but the BEST 4 WD shop in town is 4 Wheelers Supply at 3530 East Washington, in Phoenix. Phone: 602-2737195. Not on the West side by any means, but well worth the drive. I live on the West side, and have used them several times.

Can anyone recommend a good, competent shop in the NW valey

It's an 86 CJ7, 258w/hei&cam, lockup 727, locked D44s, OME reversal,

Subject: [TR] Turkey Creek - Sunday, November 3, 2002
Hello All,
Jason LaLiberty is leading a Turkey Creek trail run on Sunday, November 3, 2002.
When: 8:30am on Sunday
Where: Meet at I-17 and Carefree Highway at 8:30am
Rating: 3.0+
Length: 4-5 hours
CB Channel: 4
The Turkey Creek Trail runs up the Black Canyon from Bumble Bee to Cleator. After turning left off the main road onto FR 684, the trail will split to go down into the canyon, and then meet back up at the bottom. Either way will get you down, neither are very tough.
Once down to the bottom, take a hard right up and drive up the sandy wash. Keep an eye out for a trail that leads off from the left. If you get to a wide area where the wash splits, you've gone too far. The trail runs between tight brush on each side, there is a gate that you'll have to go through not to far along. As with all gates, if it's open when you find it leave it open; if it's closed then make sure you close it after you pass through.
The trail at this point winds its way up the wash, in many places the trail has all but disappeared. There will be rocky areas to play on along the way. If the river is running, you'll want to make sure you have a winch along, as there are boulders and quick sand hiding, waiting to bite a Jeep.
Keep following the wash up, eventually the road will become more apparent. The trail takes a steep climb out to the top of a ridge, then drops off the other side. You will come to a Y intersection, you may go either way. The left branch climbs another ridge and then drops you back into the wash on the other side.
The right branch takes you through an old hermit's mining claim. The trail on the right branch almost completly disappears; pick your way through carefully you'll find rocky flat areas with no brush on them, this is the trail. After passing around the corner from the Hermit's cabin, you'll see where the trail used to go across a bend in the wash; now that is pretty much impassable. You can continue up the wash and around the corner. If the water is running, this may be extremely hazardous.
After the bend, the two trails combine again. The trail is much more visible now, there will be a few places where the trail splits, take the most travelled looking trail. Go SLOW one of these side trails (the old trail) has about a four foot angled drop off as you come around a blind curve.
The further you go, the more apparent the trail is. At the joining of Poland Creek and Turkey Creek, the trail leaves the bottom of the canyon and heads across the hills to Cleator. Overall, with a small group of Jeeps, this trail can be done between 4 - 6 hours when dry depending on how much site seeing you do. If it is really wet, this can be a weekend trip. One note of caution, this trail runs almost entirely through active mining claims; do NOT stop and start digging around.
Remember to bring water, lunch (and more if it's wet), and don't forget your camera.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Hi Nena!
When is the big Sedona Jeep roundup? :D We'd love to come back up there.
On our way home from wheeling with you guys the AX15 5 speed started to
shake and die. I was able to get home but it was toasted with only 28k
miles. I now have a 2000 Cherokee 4 speed automatic in there and I'm
anxious to take a road trip to see how it performs on the the freeway
climbs heading north.
Please let us know when the roundup will be.
Thanks,

Hello All,
Mike Johnson lead a trail run Saturday, October 26, 2002 across FR-42
We had a pretty good time. There was just enough rain to keep the dust down. One of the couple 'zukis had to be pulled out a few times but nobody did any damage that was easily spotted. I had to bail out after a lunch at Indian Springs. It looked like most everyone stopped to play at some of the obsticales on the way out of the wash.

Well, some areas of the country use a rateing system of 1-10, which is much like a our commonly used 1-5 rateing. Of course, yes , it is still a crock, becuase a "10" would be considered a "5", the Rubicon Trail, is a far from a "5" and there is NO way a Hummer could run a class 5 trail.

Damon,
Can't tell you about the repeater, but the BEST 4 WD shop in town is 4 Wheelers Supply at 3530 East Washington, in Phoenix. Phone: 602-2737195. Not on the West side by any means, but well worth the drive. I live on the West side, and have used them several times.

The two most pressing quesitons that I can think of...
Can anyone recommend a good, competent shop in the NW valey
(Surprise area, but a GOOD guy anywhere is better than a bad
shop that's local!). Somplace not afraid of a non-stock jeep.
It's an 86 CJ7, 258w/hei&cam, lockup 727, locked D44s, OME reversal,

Also - Are there many hams out there that can point me to some

It looked like most everyone stopped to play at some of the obsticales on the way out of the wash.

stuff anyways?
"Hummers come off the line equipped to tackle Class 10 offroad
trails — the most difficult and treacherous
An example is the 22-mile Rubicon Trail in California's Eldorado
National Forest near Lake Tahoe"

Well, some areas of the country use a rateing system of 1-10, which is much like a our commonly used 1-5 rateing. Of course, yes , it is still a crock, becuase a "10" would be considered a "5", the Rubicon Trail, is a far from a "5" and there is NO way a Hummer could run a class 5 trail.

Subject: [Tech] 2000 TJ - Rear Discs for D44-00TJ
Am looking for info on converting rear drums to discs on my 00TJ with Dana 44 axle. I have ben told that the rear discs from a 95-96 Grand Cherokee are a direct bolt on swap. Does anyone have knowledge of this or any other suggestions? I am just finishing up an AT for 5sp swap if anyone wants info on this, drop me a line.
