Two buddies here in the valley within days of each other had their Wranglers broken into. One of the Jeeps they broke up the column and couldn't get it started so they decided to cut if the soft top with a knife. The other Jeep they must of got scared off the either the alarm or person because all they did was bust up the door and lock.

I hate thieves!!!

Also keep and eye on your catalytic converters. I guess that is a hot item for thieves right now. A coworker of mine just had his stolen during a 10 min stop at a store.

Heres a msn article about it:

During a 10 minute stop? That's insane. You'd think they'd rather steal it from a parked car that someone isn't coming back to for a while?

I guess we should keep our eyes out for people wondering around with a battery powered sawz-all!

No Joke. He was driving honda pilot. Not sure if some cars are more valuable or not.

Ha ha. No, he acutally has some mechanical aptitude. Although he did get it replace with a cheap generic cat and now hates the car cause its too noisy.

Is it legal to hook a teaser up to your Jeep?

We need to make our own VJC bait jeep and everyone wait around the corner. When they try to get away we can all jump out and...

light it on fire with them in it...
tack weld the doors shut and take it out to the coves...
throw 400 scorpions inside and seal the doors...

I am sure we could come to a consensus. :D

This is happening alot around the State Capitol area. They are unbolting or cutting them off at parking lots and selling them to scrap places for $100 . I got an email about this at work. Also they are hitting Toyota and Nissan mainly.

I went to the scrap place today (Rio Saldo & McClintock) to ditch a bent vw wheel that I had. 17lb wheel = $8.50. Scribble on a piece of paper and off you go. Copper obviously goes for more, I don't know how much. I saw three or four different contruction-looking guys dropping off copper wire. It didn't look suspicious per say, but it made me think. Metal Recylcing places are shady. It's a shame that something good and beneficial like recycling is enabling thiefs!

There are trace amounts of precious metals in the substrate. That is why they are worth so much money.

Platinum, Pladium and Rhodium. All very expensive! Some of the new cats ae worth $2-300. Old pellet style from 70s cars are worth $30-50. Wiring harness's are worth .50/lbs. Everything is worth money today!

The south side of Rio Salado hasn't changed much. It's the north side that is getting developed. Now they are clearing the area near the ASU lot just east of Rural. I'm guessing codos, like the ones on the other side of the 'lake'. The whole area is going to change within the next 5 years. I have a 3D animated DVD at work that shows all the high rises going in near ASU.

Of course that would mean purchasing a new vehicle..... but, at least we would get the asshat stealing them.

It looks like they found a chop-shop in avondale. Hopefully nobodies stolen Jeep went through it.

My mechanic told me he had acustomer come in just recently with a loud car, yep the cat got ripped off of it. I think a just punishment to the one who gets caught stealing a cat would be: to put him in a big burlap bag with 4 kitty cats and throw him in the lake. YEEEE OUCH E WHAWHA !!

I think Duality has a beloved kitty that he would offer for such a punishment. I won't volunteer my cat though.

We had the cat stolen off an employee's car at work this week. (Toyota) Before that happened, I didn't even know it was such a hot item....

I am not a LEO but my guess would be that if everyone put an identifying mark on everything on their Jeep it would be the beginning of being able to pull a sting operation. I do not even know how this could be done but someone with training could think of something, most likely. I am sure some of this stuff is going to show up on Craigs List if it hasn't already
