Hello All,

Gary Oglesby is leading an Unspecified trail run on Saturday, November 2, 2002.

When: Meet at 10am Saturday Morning
Where: Meet @ Dairy Queen on East side of Highway 85 in Ajo, Arizona.
Rating: None
Length: 5-6 hours
CB Channel: 5

Long or short day of wheeling. Exploring known roads and unknown roads in very pretty Sonoran Desert. Ajo is about 1.5 hours South of the Phoenix Area.

Roads range from Sandy washes to easy dirt roads to a bit more challenging. Rating anything from 2.5 to 3 maybe close to a 3.5.

I would love to camp out 1 night if you're willing...

Maybe a little hiking???

Just sign up on the list and if you want to camp or do some hiking just e-mail me or give me a call.

Subject: [TR] Broken Arrow - Thursday, October 31, 2002

Hello All,

Frank Minice is leading a Broken Arrow trail run on Thursday, October 31, 2002.

When:
Where: Broken Arrow trail -Sedona Red Country
Rating: 2.5+
Length: 7 Hours from Phoenix start.
CB Channel: 4

I am planning on taking friends from Oregon on this trail on Thursday. If anyone is interested in joining up, email me off list at F968190@aol.com (rather than signing up here, since it is such short notice)

Broken Arrow is a fun trail with great scenery. A stock Jeep can make this run and there are areas for those with built rigs to test and flex their suspension, such as the Crack. Pay attention to the signs, as part of this trail is a one-way loop.

A lot of Pink Jeeps share the trail so please put your best foot forward while representing our club. For many of the passengers on those Jeep tours, you are the first real off-roader they have ever seen (gosh, that is a scarey thought!) You will find that most of the pink drivers are pretty cool!

The Devil's Staircase is fun, and some members have been known to run it bottom-to-top. If you do, please post a look-out at the top to prevent someone from coming down while you are trying to go up.

It usually takes a couple of hours to make the loop, which allows ample time for pictures and a stop at Chicken Point for lunch (you did bring lunch, didn't you?)

Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

I have a 7' x 11' trailer with sides that has decent ground clearance.
Should I bring it? Will I have any problems dragging it back there with

I dunno about the sound, it works fine for me. Maybe try updating your

I've seen messages regarding state land use permits and special use permits, being extremely green to off roading I guess I don't know the in's and out's of land use, (other than pack it in, pack it out). Is there a site where all this information exists or someone to help clue me in?
Thanks,

You people in Tucson & other parts of the state,

AzVJC, the way I understand it, was meant for all of Arizona. I hope you
people in Tucson & other parts of AZ are not put off by some of us in the
Phoenix area doing stuff and doing the majority of the posting on the board.
I would really like to see what other parts of the state have to offer and
just because I may not attend 9 out of 10 times doesn't mean I am
disregarding your trips. Please post more trips and have more input.

Enjoy the out of doors and let the rest of share in your enjoyment, just as
we will do.

Mike,

While I have not had any break personally, I offer the following&..they can break when your shocks are the incorrect length&.either from being over extended (axle pulling down on the shock which is then acting as a limiting strap) or from being over compressed (axle pushing up into the shock which is then acting as a bump stop). Either situation results in forces than neither the shock or the shock mounts are designed for.

I would venture a guess that one of the two are happening with your setup.
