Thanks to everyone who showed up on Oct. 25th. I was in California
and came back to hear all of my plans had been deminished by some
kids who thought it would be cool to make a fake bomb and plant it
in our bathroom.
The group Four Banger, a punk rock group, and hopefully you guys
will be out there.
It is going to be more like a park and show. I hope someone can
bring the banner. I am looking for about 10 Jeeps.
Plan to attend and RSVP to me as soon as possible.

Nov. 15th, 2002
Need to be there by 10:45, the band will play from 11-12 noon.
Bring some friends.
Should be fun.

If you want them to last you do NOT want to reuse the old bearings. Most of the time the old bearings will take on some damage during removal.

There are a lot of tech articles on the web about installing R&Ps and it really isnt that hard to do. To be honest, I think it sounds harder than it is. I am just a self taught home mechanic and I did mine and they work great. There is even one article that says if you use the same bearings and shims on the new set up that you dont have to do all hard work that some other sites and books talk about. I cant vouch for that but to set them up the "book" way is a real pain in the butt.
Good luck

Teresa,
That sounds like fabulous idea (geez, did I just say fabulous?!!?)
You must be on the East side, so I'd be game. The 16th would be fine. If you do get plans established, post a run. My wife and I would be happy to bring whatever.
Was also thinking of a trailrun for that day - an easy cruise thru Bulldog Canyon. It's a VERY stock friendly trail, so anyone posting about the lack of easy runs, this would be for you. And even though the trail isn't a challenge for a built Jeep, I still love running it. Seems to provide a chance to relax and take in some scenery, or let your significant other take the wheel (if they're not accustomed to driving). It's located just north of Apache Junction, so is very close and can be done relatively quickly. Would be a good warm-up for some BBQ! I have a permit (special one req'd for this area, not just the STL permit), but would encourage others to get on as well.

Subject: Follow-up - Darner Jeep/Fuel pump lines
Hi,
I appreciate everyone who responded to my question on Monday about whether
or not it was possible that a lift could sever my fuel pump lines. The
consensus was that I was getting ripped off. Well, to give Darner a fair
shake here, I thought I would post a follow-up. Please pardon my lack of
technical terms.....but I'll try to get the point across.
Had the Jeep on the lift and the service manager waiting for me when I got
there. It was not the fuel pump line that was cut, but the electrical
harness running into the fuel pump. He pointed out a metal tab (about
1-1/2" long) that stuck up out of a bracket and showed me where this tab
had been whacking the floor board when I was wheeling; apparently when my
wheels are shoved up in my wheel wells. There was a dent on the floorboard
right in the area of these wires. He then showed me a spot where something
is hitting my muffler when I'm wheeling causing another area of
indentation. He suggested I install a rear track bar. He then pointed out
that my brake line is rubbing against my shock. He then pointed out the
stress on my rubber bushings. He then indicated that one of my coil
springs is not centered. Basically, he gave me a run down on every
component that appears to be failing with my new lift. Grrrrr.... think
I'll name my Jeep the "Road Hazard" and join AAA. Anyway, wanted to be
fair to Darner after what I saw under there.
Joe West: I asked about Darner's warrantee work for AZVJC members who have
modified their vehicles. He told me that they do warrantee their work
provided the modification didn't cause the damage. He also admitted that
this leaves "what caused the damage" open to individual
interpretation. Guess you take your chances.

the trail isn't a challenge for a built Jeep, I still love running

Lachlan,
I've had some personal dealings with Mike Hudson, and I can tell you he will
make a great doctor. Mike took a great deal of his own personal time to do
some research for me and explain a few things concerning Diabetes (a disease
which runs in my family which I am trying to avoid)... he really is a nice

By the way; I too hope it hurt like hell when the idiot shot himself... and,

Good luck

That sounds like fabulous idea (geez, did I just say fabulous?!!?)
You must be on the East side, so I'd be game. The 16th would be fine. If you do get plans established, post a run. My wife and I would be happy to bring whatever.

Bulldog Canyon. It's a VERY stock friendly trail, so anyone posting
about the lack of easy runs, this would be for you. And even though
the trail isn't a challenge for a built Jeep, I still love running
it. Seems to provide a chance to relax and take in some scenery, or
let your significant other take the wheel (if they're not accustomed
to driving). It's located just north of Apache Junction, so is very
close and can be done relatively quickly. Would be a good warm-up
for some BBQ! I have a permit (special one req'd for this area, not
just the STL permit), but would encourage others to get on as well.

Lachlan,
I've had some personal dealings with Mike Hudson, and I can tell you he will
make a great doctor. Mike took a great deal of his own personal time to do
some research for me and explain a few things concerning Diabetes (a disease
which runs in my family which I am trying to avoid)... he really is a nice
guy.
By the way; I too hope it hurt like hell when the idiot shot himself... and,
when he comes back in the next life as a ****roach, I hope it is in my home
he finds himself crawling around.
