I've had my "race bike" since '99.
I'm older now, and don't enjoy timed laps, and pushing for new personal bests... well, kinda, but the bests have turned from "I lap'd this fast" to "I made the whole lap with out a heart attack".

Anyways, my old hardtail "race bike" has been much transformed in the last year... shorter stem with rise to it, riser bars, 2.35" tires and as of today...
My stupid light old as heck near rigid SID is going to be replaced by an '08 Reba race.

Whooo Hoooo...

Will add some height to the bars, slacken the head angle and hopefully add a tonne of plush to the front end.

I'm excited.

JK. Never raced, but I'm the proud owner of a 2007 Specialized Enduro SL thats like riding on a cloud compared to my old GT I-Drive.

ya, I know, kinda dumb post.

those enduro's are nice rigs.
i'd like to have a full sus' trail bike, but, $$$... nothing wrong with the old hardtail, so, i'll just alter it to suit my needs.

where do you typically ride?

Rode yesterday late afternoon at Hawes...great weather!

Will be riding there again Friday AM about 9AM if anyone's interested. Bringing a friend of mine out who is very new to mtn biking, so will be a slow pace ride. And will try to keep the direction as much dowhnhill as I can so the physical side shouldn't be too bad either.

Post here or PM me if interested and we I can pass on any further details.

the 2.35's and 100mm Reba have sure made a lot to the "cush" of my old hardtail.
definitely more suits my current slow and steady style than did the old racer-boy setup.
been riding Papago golf course loop in an attempt to get back 'some' athletic-ness.
had every intention on going to McDowel (Fountain Hills) today, but, slept 'till 10am... have yard work to do, and, kinda interested to see what takes place in Fontana with the nascar race.
