I need to know if I can reuse my shift linkage from my NP231 when I swap in my Rubicon Transfer case.

All help is appreciated.

I've found a lot of info on installing in 2000 and earlier TJ's, but here is the only link for a newer one, its an 02. Still before they made Rubicons.

I did a 06 Rubi 241 swap into a 97 tj AX-15

Yes, the shift linkage is all the same, just some normal adjustment

BTW the 241 shift arm moves in the oposite direction so it looks like a problem but it is not, the shifter/indicator lined up fine

couple things to be aware of with swap:

-if you have older tj with basic elect. spedo, you will need to splice wires to keep computer from kicking a code (and it may not be accurate) the only way to fully correct this is with aftermarket products like Superlift truspeed or Dakota Digital setup, newer model that have the hall effect type speed sensor should work, but computer may need to be reflashed to read correct

-also check that the output shaft on new case protrudes same as old case, adapter is avail. if shaft is to short everything will work but you will leak all of the TC fluid into trans

-the mounting bracket for trans/tc may need mods and some of the ribs on 241 may need to be ground a little (mine sits somewhat high on pan)

-Tom woods has flange adapter and special shaft for rear and a special yoke for using non Rubi stock shaft in front
