Ok heres the problem im looking at a new JK 4 door i have test drove it a little bit and even rented one when i was in cancun but it was only a 2wd :( and i love jeeps and all (i have a 04 tj right now) but i drive a hour and half everyday for work and the rides really getting to me because i recently had back surgery lol must be that im getting to old. I rented a dodge ram and enjoyed the nice ride and how quite it was compared to the TJ. I guess my question is how much better and how much quiter is the new JK (with a hard top) compared to the TJ especially doing 75 on the highway? Id really hate to sell the jeep and i wish i could keep it but i cant afford two cars right now. I guess im stuck between buying a new ram or the JK. any opinons would really help. thanks!

The new JK is a totally different Jeep than a TJ. The four door adds a huge wheelbase 116" Vs your current 93.4 which smooths out the ride and handling quite a bit. Now add an additional 5.5" so your not so cramped up inside...Why don't you swing by and I can show you the rest of the changes...

How about upgrading the TJ with New seats and some nice comfy shocks.. Then you don't have to add another 5 to 6 years of payment to your life..

Is your current Jeep lifted? If it is, then you can upgrade to a long arm lift or just do what was suggested above and get better seats and shocks to make it more comfortable. A lot cheaper than buying a JK or a Ram.
Another option is to get a small economy car to drive to and from work in it. Chances are that if you are driving and hour and a half every day, then the gas savings alone will almost pay for the payment of the car. Start adding up how much gas you will save and you will be very surprised. The 08 Mitsu Lancers are very nice entry level vehicles that are mid sized and start cheap. The one I drive every day sees 33-34 mpg highway and I have even had it at 37mpg highway.

Buying a 4 door JK is the best money that I've spent to date.

I have both an 07 JK 4-door and a 02 Ram 1500 4x4 std cab longbed (02 was the year Dodge put IFS on the Ram, haven't kept track of design changes of the Dodge since I bought it). I kinda switch between them regularly, my wife and I use them as daily drivers.
On the plus side for the Ram, it has a gazillion cubbies to stash stuff for long trips.
On the minus side for the Ram, I find the 8-way power seat impossible to adjust for comfort (kinda ironic). If I'm in it over an hour, my back will kill me. I have not had that problem with the stock seats in the JK (I have an X, not sure if the Sahara or Rubi offer better seating or just better fabric). (Again, not sure how much the Ram design has changed since 02.)
I find the JK and Ram comparable in ride quality (both are currently stock suspensions with 32" tires). The JK is more nimble, but no rougher than the Ram. I actually have some ride quality issues with the Ram on the 202 freeway due to how it's paved and the long wheelbase.
On the plus side for the JK, it puts a smile on my face every time I get into it. Can't say that for the Ram. :D

I love my 4 door JK and even in the soft top it isn't as loud as in my old TJ.

The steering alone is worth the upgrade from a TJ to a JK. Then talk about the difference in wheelbase--after driving a TJ, you get in the JK and find yourself going 85 mph before you think to look down at the speedo.
If you want a real test drive, we have 4-door Rubicon hard tops for rent in Sedona.
Happy trails,
