Hi Gang,
Does the forum seem to be running slower today? I'm wondering if the speed issue I am seeing today is my work connection or the forum itself. Apple had a security patch for servers that I incorporated today and I'm wondering if it slowed things down.

I started installing that security patch last night before I went to bed and it ended up stalling. It's the first Apple update I've installed where it actually stalled. Sounds like you may have had better luck with it than I.

I am not having problems today Joe but last night around midnight it was horrible. I checked my connection and speeds on my end and I was good. Although I had a problem with 2 other sites as well. SO, with that said I still do not know if it was on your end.
Cox repeatedly tells me the system is slow on the east side because they are still trying to incorporate the "Cable America's" backend systems which is lagging the system....

It was a little pokey for me this morning... but I just thought it was IE acting up, or maybe the fact that I'm across the country. :dunno:
Seems to be running fine at the moment.

I was having some slowness and when I checked it was across the board so I knew then it was on my side.
Reset your network connection using MacPilot and do a "permanent apply"
Boot from your OSX install disk, set it up till you get the menu at the top of the screen.
Go to utilities menu and open the Reset Password
click on the ACL button at the bottom, when done, reset all of your passwords. I make mine all the same since I am the only one on here. Admin, Root and user. close. (yes you can use your old password)
Go to utilities menu again and open your Firmware app. Reset the pass word. close. I use the password again.
Go to utilities menu and open Disk utility, do a repair disk (should be ok) and then do permissions check. close.
Restart, should SCREAM...:drummer:

Bill, its a Mac thing, you wouldn't understand...only those who were open to change welcomed the Mac to the IT world. Those that haven't accepted change are still using Windoze....:)
