Ok heres my uneducated question of the week:
I have always said that when I get rid of the Land Rover and if I get a Jeep (read: when i get a jeep) I must get a manual.
Now after reading the Auto vs. Manual thread this has me thinking, what if I get an auto... I know it would be much easier to take my GF off-road and let her drive it rather than burn my clutch and replace/repeat only to have her get frustrated and mad...etc.....
If I got an Auto what type of modifications would I not be able to perform, if any?
Any other issues such as possible lower ground clearance, weak parts with a automatic not normally associated with a manual...etc....
Would I have to Re-gear if I were to run 35's??
(lookin at getting a JK after I return from deployment)
Sorry, new to the Jeep mechanical world.
